I have RESPECT for eastern Tennessee!! Something I don’t see in the south anymore. When a funeral procession goes through town, the whole town comes outside and puts their hats over their hearts ♥️ Everything in town stops to pay respect 🤗 I have nothing but respect for eastern Tennessee 💜

Cars traveling on the opposite side of the road will pull off to the side and stop as a final showing of respect for a funeral procession as it passes by. It may be technically against the law as it is "impeding the flow of traffic" but it has been happening since before I was born. Yes, I am a native of Greene County and still work there.

During the last funeral procession that I was in we went through a rural area in TN. At one home a man was using a weed eater on a bank. As we approached, he stopped, killed the machine, placed it on the ground and then stood there with his hat over his heart until we had passed. This was a simple show of respect for the deceased but his actions meant a lot to the remaining family members!

I really enjoyed this session of Duck Call Room recapping their trip to Tennessee. All had great stories & seemed to have had a lot of fun. The best Mexican food I ever ate was in a hole in the wall in Chattanooga Tennessee. Never been to mexico, but that Tennessee grub was just as good as they make in Matagorda Texas if not better. Maybe they make good gumbo up there, too.
