On this episode of the Before I Forget Podcast, our guest Peter Hadfield I’ve known for over 30 years. He was a two time Olympian, 3 time Commonwealth Games star including a silver medal in the decathlon, a 10 times National decathlon champion and since he left competing many years ago, he has coached speed for major sporting teams and also with Jock Athletic. This includes being the speed and technique coach for the Penrith Panthers who won a great grand final in 2003.
Pete now also trains and competes for Wanda SLSC, and so it was a real thrill for us to sit down and talk to Pete about his incredible career in athletics. We covered his experience at the 1980 Olympics, which were affected by the boycott in Russia, and then the 1984 LA games during the Cold War. It was a time when athletes like Carl Lewis, Steve Ovett and Sebastian Coe were making history. A great listen, and great to have Pete on.
