Didn't feel forced?? I think this Batman event is unbelievably contrived and retrogressive. Why is Selina yelling at him over their marriage when (1) she left him at the altar and (2) this particular story conflict was already resolved when they got unofficially married? Character regression on top of a nonsensical plot; if this was a novel an editor would have thrown it in the trashcan. At least the Doomsday issue looks promising...

The mention of their marriage was only in one or two panels but this storyline has nothing to do with any of that. I don’t think this story feels forced because Selina has been training all of these henchmen to be thieves for a few issues in her own book so it was inevitable that they’d eventually cross paths with the Bat-family. I just think it feels natural because it’s not a brand-new story that’s suddenly popping up out of nowhere but rather a natural progression of where her story is going.

@@bumpkinstv6722 On the contrary, characters being written ridiculously out of character is highly pertinent to a story. Insofar as her thieves' guild is concerned, it's forced because it's nonsensical. Paying criminals not to commit crime? Training them to be better criminals? Paying millions to mob bosses to have them lay low? The idea that this works, or that she and her guild can accrue these funds by simply robbing a limited pool of billionaires (who would simply leave the city or stop carrying valuables in their homes, or quickly RUN OUT of jewels to steal) is ludicrous. Foisting such an absurd plan onto a character only makes said character look like, frankly, a moron. And basing the foundation of an event upon it is a recipe for failure. Anyways, sorry for the essays.
