I HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Casa Susanna". Their stories are life-affirming and heart breaking at the same time. Hearing the stories on Drag Race has opened my eyes, my mind, my heart, my soul.

Tony Curtis or Jack Lemmon? You're missing out on some of today's most phenomenally talented entertainers.

Sad that William Dorsey Swann wasn’t mentioned in this but great information overall.

There are more comprehensive videos on the history of drag here on KZbin. This video is a very brief version of the truly fascinating history and evolution of drag over the centuries.

I want to know who drag is for? I just don’t understand that part. gay men aren’t into women and women can’t date gay men, so who is drag for?

Why can't women date gay men? What do you mean gay men aren't into women? Have you seen a drag queen?

It's simply theatrical, comedic entertainment for anyone and everyone.

This past weekend ,it was for myself (female) and my husband and our hetero friends at a weekend away in Provincetown. We enjoyed every minute of the show with incredible singers and dancers impersonating celebrities. That is what DRAG is all about. And it is for everyone that would like to attend one.

Drag is for everybody. It's to forget your worries for a while. Nobody leaves a drag show in a bad mood. It's a rule. It has nothing to do with who a person is attracted to or what gender they are. Straight, gay, bi, any gender, any age, any race, religion or ethnicity can do drag. Straight women do drag. It's putting on a character and performing on stage. Entertaining people. I am a 67 yo straight white woman living in NW Oregon and I am OBSESSED with the art and artists of drag. Obsessed with the transformative nature of it, obsessed with the creativity and talent in these phenomenal entertainers. Some of them create every look themselves, concept to construction. Beautiful birds, billboards and recliners. Giant mosquitoes and plants. Drag is not just impossibly perfect femininity. It's simply becoming a character and putting it on stage. I've seen cake plates, street signs and famous paintings brought to life. Those characters have nothing to do with who the artist is "into" or their gender. Drag is for everybody!
