Originally called "Advocate". Hits every important part of Jesus. I love this song and use it as part of my prayers each day. It just says it all and reminds how much was sacrificed for me. Written by Charitie Lees Bancroft. She was born in Dublin, Ireland 1841. This is what I've read. I can't guarantee the accuracy. It was tuned to the hymn "Sweet Hour of Prayer" but was claimed to have given it a mournful quality and in 1997, Vikki Cook of Sovereign Grace Ministries wrote the tune that Getty uses.
