This is African. Call and Response. I heard it as a child in Haiti, Dominican Republic, and in Wellborn, Florida (as well as Jasper, Fl Lake City, Fl and White Springs, Fl). It is not be a coincidence that this style of call and response I heard in three different places in three different languages by carbon rich people. Im so thankful to have experienced this, beyond words. This is how we preserved culture beyond religion in the west.

Lord I remember this sitting on a mourning bench until the Holy spirit came. It wasn't no laughing matter churches were spiritual it wasn't no playing had to be serious and full of the Holy Ghost...i knew in the 60's this song and old churches with a wood heater and it were long before me.
