Watchmen is an American comic-book limited series published by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987, and collected in 1987. The series was created by a British collaboration consisting of writer Alan Moore, artist Dave Gibbons, and colorist John Higgins. Watchmen originated from a story proposal Moore submitted to DC featuring superhero characters that the company had acquired from Charlton Comics. As Moore's proposed story would have left many of the characters unusable for future stories, managing editor Dick Giordano convinced Moore to create original characters instead.

Actually Dr. Manhattan can't travel back and forth through time. He's in the past, present, and future all at the same time. If you read what he says on Mars, it clearly states that he's in those places at the same time. He's Omni-Present or what ever it's called

I absolutely love this channel. One day, I believe Rob will be tapped as one of the paramount experts in comics and comics explained will be an awkward question he will have to answer while mugging for the hungry cameras. I said it once before, I say it again, the world needs Rob to charm the lens. I will absolutely say that our beloved Rob is not only photogenic, he's better in front of the camera than behind slides. I would love to see him interview live comic industry folks, build a good 22min format and get airtime off youtube. Imagine people, Rob interviewing the creators in DC and Marvel and infusing his obvious energy and love into it. I bet Rob could get Neil Adams (the crustiest f*** to ever draw a green lantern) to gush like a fanboy on camera. I would PAY to see that old stiff get revved up by our man Rob, not to mention the other greats out there. Rob already has the retrospective format down to an art. Imagine if he and some of the industry best commentated on classic comics and their contemporaneous re-interpretations. Pod cast, video channel or a formatted Television show. scrodinger was criticizing the Copenhagen interpretation. quantum physics does not change reality via observation, it's a flaw in our practical ability to measure things that shows up mathematically as an uncertain probabilistic field. this only affects changes in a sub atomic scale. the cat is alive or dead, but we can't discover which through purely mathematical means. reality does not split off every time someone makes a choice. there are a finite number of dimensions that cross section in such a way as to build a reality, many of which are literally unfathomable to our primate brains built around limited sensory data to efficiently meet survival and reproductive circumstances. damn I need a beer.

Archontasius Yes in Watchmen he said we are all puppets even himself but he can see the strings. Yes Manhattan is not everything. He didnt see Ozy plans, hes close friends got cancer, he didnt know what happened to the Comedian or who killed him, etc. Fanboys just exagerate him but he got many flaws. He also gets lost in his own mind which pretty much means his is a one dimensional character, with no great insight like Rorschach. Manhattan was irrevelant in the Watchmen. The story centered in Ozymandias (who is a far better and dangerous character ) and progressed to its climax because of Rorschach. Manhattan dosnt save nor do anything that greatly affects the story.

I'm a big fan of the watchmen I have to say that the comedian is by far my favorite because he is so ruthless and realistic he calls it like he sees it!! No filter and very straight up about everything. Night owl is my second favorite and its a tie between Dr.Manhattan and Rorschach. I like night owl because when he is not in costume he is nerdy and you would never guess him to be able to kick ass like he does and would never guess he is a super hero by night! I know he is kind of a Batman knock off but its all good because Batman is the best and imitation is the greatest form of flattery. It would be amazing to see night owl and Batman team up and work together now that would be an amazing story and would love to see it!!

the easiest way to explain Schroeders cat in lamens terms is Schroeder says inside a box is a cat and a vial of poison, the cat is both dead and alive until you open the box and permanently alter its state by viewing either any alive or dead cat.

Before Watchmen - Dr. Manhattan: Nutshell - Dr. Manhattan is Shroedinger's Cat. He saw all of the possibilities of his existence. You missed one crucial point - Dr. Manhattan sits in the box - he is within all realities. The rest of the story is color which distracts and humanizes someone who no longer is human....maybe.

Why is everyone getting the Schrodinger cat anecdote wrong? Quantum theory states that if particle state is undetermined until observed/acted upon. Before that it exist in both states at once. Schrodinger thought this theory is wrong and used cat in a box as an example of an absurd that this theory can create. Cat life is dependent on radioactive decay of an atom. Radioactive decay is a quantum process. Cat, izotope, detector of radioactive decay and killing mechanism are all inside the box. Therefore if the atom is in both states at once, the cat is also in both states at once - alive and dead. When we open the box, all of that merges into one of the possibilities. It's not about that anything can be in the box or things not existing when not observed or other ideas that people are often repeating. Now that we know that Schrodinger was wrong this anecdote serves as a reminder of how unintuitive the universe can be and that we cannot use our logic based on the makro word to decide what is true.
