Jet Guitars have been around for a few years now and I was very impressed by the first batch i reviewed back in 2021 but how good are jet guitars in 2024? The world of budget guitars has got more competitive and delivery from Asia has become problematic so can Jet Guitars still beat a Harley Benton or Squier in terms of Value for Money? Watch this BEFORE you buy a new budget guitar.
In this video i review the Jet guitars JT-300, JT-350 RLC, JJ-350 and JS-800.

I have JJ350, and it was so great to see that you liked it too! I agree with everything that was said; very comfortable, great sounding, special guitar. I did small change though, changed knobs to the shiny steel ones. Looks amazing next to the humbucker covers! And by the way this guitar weights 2,8 kg/6 lbs. So it is very light. Thanks for the great review!

Just bought a new JS-400 Strat for only 139€. Incredible guitar! I have bought some Harley Bentons in the last years too but the Jet is oustanding! I had a lot of Strat guitars (some Fender AM and MM, Squier, Haar, Danelectro 84), but the Jet is an unbelievable good guitar out of the box!

139 is a steal for that. I think their price recommendation now is ~220 EUR on their website. I bought my JS-400 2 years ago new for 175 EUR. Still my most used guitar. I was most surprised how light it is, compared to e.g. a Squier strat.

Personally as a Strat guy who doesn't get the 'fake relic' thing, none of these are my thing, but keep the Jazz if that's the one you love Andy 🤘 "The guitar IS the neck" someone said. Wholeheartedly agree and a big JET fan since getting my JS-400SB. Love that JET seems to start with great necks and build outward from there to different price points.

Ceramic magnets can be fine in pickups if they’re thoughtfully designed. The DiMarzio Super Distortion, the Duncan Custom (SH-5), most of the stuff from Railhammer, there’s loads of great ceramic designs. I like the offset guitar the best, keep that one around.

I recently bought a JS300 and after taking the nut off, there were 2 slot type holes in the bottom of the nut, which made me suspicious wether or not its really bone. BUT! I got the metalic gold and its beautiful! and after installing locking tuners, a hand crafted bone nut made by yours truly, new pickups and a proper set up. WOW! it's really good. The set up from the factory was decent. The frets were shiny and not sharp. Better then other more expensive guitars I've had. It had one high fret (15) that was easily leveled and re crowned. It comes with a big block and the bridge looks very familiar and works perfectly and it is floating. I was so impressed, that I bought a JS400 in black and Its beautiful too. Well done Jet Guitars!!!!!

I had a JS300 & a JS400. The difference in pick ups and neck join (3 single coils and neck plate vs HSS and recessed bolts and shaped heel) for very little difference in money (both under £200) meant I kept the JS400 and passed on the JS300. Both were great guitars, but I preferred the JS400.

JJ 350, rout out the upper end and put the switch where it should be in the first place. Then you need to have a new pick guard made. I do not understand why people feel that they need to continue to make the mistakes that Leo Fender made. IT IS OKAY TO PLACE THE SWITCH OUT OF THE WAY!!

I recently got a Squier Tele affinity and I cant believe how good it is for 200 BUCKS. Aside from doing a fret level and a bit of a setup to where I want it, it's killer! I might not even bother changing the pickups. Even the pots are decent and not hose tiny horrible ones

Yes, I must agree. The JJ350 looks great, sounds pretty good, but the cutaways and the balance put it over the top. I can hear a little deadness in the strings on all of them. They'd all be excellent starters that could be upgraded with better tuners down the line. Personally I'm not a fan of the relics, but to each his own.

The JJ is the one for sure! It seems to have that pizzazz that the other ones are maybe missing a little bit. I can see why Jet may want a T and S style to be a part of their line up (especially at that price point), but I feel like their soul is really in the offset models. In the coming years I can see them turning into a really cool mid-priced offset-specialist brand that offer all the crazy configurations one can think of!

I would go for the JT-300, nothing wrong with a pink Tele, also can swap pickups (the neck sounded a bit weak), toggle switch & pots. Playability (neck & frets mainly) is key. I thought the JJ-350 was a bit too heavy on the low end, perhaps a little too dark as I listened on this end. I’m listening on my JBL bluetooth speaker, not the greatest but much better than my phone speaker. However it’s difficult to argue when you’re there to listen to the response and we’re not…! The Tele custom model was a disappointment (at least from what I could hear), the neck humbucker sounded muddy. Nice in the middle position and bridge… but then again, not better than the pink Tele style. I thought the Strat model sounded the best. I'm not a fan of relics but the pickup combination sounded fantastic. I thought the neck pickup sounded almost “telecastery bridge” and stood out well on its own. Also, the absence of a tone circuit gives me pause. Again, my choices would be the JT-300 (a bargain at that price and because of it, just perfect for modding) or the most expensive 2 pickup S-style (and I might even try to add a master tone circuit, just for the hell of it). Cheers!

I have the JT 300 in lake placid blue 😍😍 £180. Upgraded the pups for £80 (tonerider alnico 2 blues). Bought a premium pre-wired tele wiring harness of ebay, cts pots, orange caps, treble bleed etc (£50). Set of vanson locking tuners £35. A friend of a friend wired and set it up to perfection for me for £50. £395 total. Looks killer, plays amazing, holds tune forever and sounds epic(really impressed with the tonerider pups, my first set, would highly recommend these tele pups). These guitars are unbelievable value and epic modding platforms. I prefer the jet neck to my player series tele, slightly less chunky in the hand and with the rolled fretboard it feels nicer in the hand. Buy one of these spend 2-300 on upgrades, get it set up and you have an amazing guitar. No need to buy American anymore with the fit, finish and build quality of brands like Jet and Sire for the price. Breaks my heart to say this as a Fender fan boy but..... You can get a lot more value for your money from Jet and Sire. I can't see myself buying anymore Fenders as I couldn’t justify the money when I can buy much better for much less.

The neck of this guitar is fantastic along with the fret work!

Blech. The JT300 may be the best choice, because it's simply a Tele guitar with no pretensions. It sounds like you can get decent Tele sounds out of it. It could go places where you wouldn't want to take a valuable guitar - something to keep for one-off gigs or to loan out. JT350, well, I've never bought into the need for a humbucker Tele. But I agree with everything you said - if you're going to go the humbucker route, it ought to provide a distinctive sound. This one doesn't. Frankly, it sounds way too much like the JT300. JJ350. I love it too, except for one thing. On twin humbuckers, I really REALLY prefer dual tone/volume controls. That's because I'm going to set them up ahead of time to provide backing (neck) and lead (bridge) settings, and the bridge-only mode can get tinny very quickly. JS800. It's not a Strat in any way that is important to Strat players. It doesn't have tremolo, it doesn't have 3 distinct pickups, it doesn't have a 5-way switch. Finally, relic models. Buy new and wear it out yourself!

These really look and sound gorgeous overall! But with problems like rust on the jack, fresh out of the box, they may still have a proper packing problem. I’ll keep my 1999 Fender Strat. I just can’t tell you what I paid for it new, it was so little. You’d be upset, because it was so cheap compared to now. Everything’s so ridiculous these days, price wise, you can’t buy a new Fender without getting a mortgage or something. Plus, this one was customized with a split humbucker at the bridge (made by a great old company) and my luthier did this little trick he knows to silence the hum from the other two plain old 1999 Fender Alnico single coils. I put money into this guitar long ago, and you should be prepared to do the same with any budget guitar. PS - get to know a good luthier. There are so many times when he or she can be your best friend! And I love that Jazzmaster style ax! But they can keep relic jobs. If I wear the paint off the body, that’s one thing. I don’t need someone at the factory with a belt sander to do it!

Rust on the jack is unlikely to be a problem with packing unless there's clear evidence of it getting in there. Most likely to be the big Achilles' Heel of Chinese manufacture - that of poor metallurgy. Chinese metals ain't great due to societal reasons. But this is small potatoes anyway as that's an easy fix.

Got a JT 350 after seeing @stevecassidyguitar review and must say they are really really nice. I'd love to get a JS 300 or greater but sadly hardly any shops in Germany have them to try out. The only negative I see is the head stock logo. 80's NY Subway graffiti tag is not my thing on such traditional guitars.

Nice review of a range of guitars. Sounds like i might like the neck a bit better than the G&L Doheny tribute I acquired recently, but I did get it to be able to play on thinner necks. It does have the pickup selector where you'd like it and a 2 point vibrato. Cheers!

My No1 is JS 800 for its tonal capacity and 2nd is the JJ

Black Strat should stay for sure, it has the best pickups of the four and is a pretty unique take on a Strat-style guitar. The matte black relic finish is like a Tom Delonge via Dave Murray thing, which I think is pretty cool.

The jj-350 is my favourite, I’d remove the pickup covers and relic it up a bit, it’d be a proper rock machine!

I'd keep the JT300 for the best fretwork of the bunch, no reason to overspend on the JT350. Not a Jaguar type of guy, so the JJ350. While the JS800 was the flagship of the bunch, I would go a SSS with a Tremolo for a Strat. I do have a Squier Bullet SSS HT, I like it for a fixed HT bridge. I also have a Squier Affinity SSS Tremolo bridge. I prefer both for what they priced to the JS800. As for the JT300, I went with Monoprice Retro Classic Teles for under $ 100. In hat regard, even the JT300 is a guitar I'd send back. The Monoprice TL's were on sale in 2021 for $ 76 & 82 delivered with a gig bag & tools. I have 2 Teles that cost less than the JT300. The bonus of the Monoprice TL's, string thru body 6x individual saddles like the Fender Player Series MiM. The JT350, I prefer the classic single coil neck pickup, so that's why I didn't like the Humbucker neck pickup in it. Honestly, none of these replace what I currently have. Going back to the JS800, I'd be content with the JS300, a Strat that is the SSS Tremolo configuration like the Squier Affinity that I have.

Actually, that silica gel on the neck for moisture during shipping is a pretty good idea.

@@jimshorts6751 Not quite, show me your science? it's all down to how and where the guitar box was stored and shipped, and guess what, No silica Gel is much worse than having a couple of packs. Even better if it's in a hard case!

JJ350, but I think with a few upgrades, JT300 would be killer.

The relicing seems incomplete. No dings, dents, scratches, finish checking. Given a choice of any of these, relicing isn't a factor for me. All the tones were pleasing to the ear (although some felt a little short of clarity) and workable. I'd enjoy playing any one of these guitars.

If it's the one you like best, keep the JM style guitar. I've got an early JS 300 and the it's got a better neck than my MIM tele.

Just note that, unlike Harley-Benton, they do not do mail order. So you have to use their website to find a dealer near you. They also only show the prices in Euros, which is annoying if you're in the US. Looks like their ONLY LP-style is the 500 Series, which is only available as a gold top, and is priced at 460 Euros. So if you want a Les Paul, I would look elsewhere.

Great work as always sir 😃🙏 Love that Jet Keep the same headstock for the Strats and Tele's. 😎👌 Tele shape headstocks (as much as i like them) are annoying for hanging. Jet also doing some of the best neck heels alongside Charvel and Ibanez AZ 👍
