HI Andy, hope your doing marvelously well and that both you & a certain former Carlisle resident are now with Henning at Gear Street again. And I just wanted to say thanks for all the Mudita (see wikipedia) and being a great friend to me (not friends - you probably have no idea who I am) but you & Henning and lots of people in the Guitar Tech community have been great friends to me in some very dark hours for me. And I hope you all have a wonderful time together and that someday I can find a way of repaying all the kindness all of you have shown me. And to quote Patrick of the Serve The Home channel (great video about buying enterprise SSD's for creators looking for storage) I hope your having an awesome day

I think that's one of the absolute best takes on an SG shape that I've ever seen. i hate to add a "but" but that headstock is horrific. I'm wondering if i like the body enough to ruin the guitar by excising the tumor from the headstock. I'm almost sold. It would, of course, have to be a keeper/lifetime guitar at that point.

I have a great idea for all guitar players..wait for it...BUY THE GEAR YOU LIKE AND IGNORE ALL THE REVIEWS ON YOU TUBE. If you like how a guitar looks, feels, plays and sounds, then why would you care what anyone else has to say about it? Same with amps. If you are a "cork sniffer" and your Custom shop Les Paul or Master Built Stratocaster enables you to play to the best of your ability and inspires you, or conversly if your used Squire does these things for you, THEN THIS IS THE BEST GUITAR FOR YOU. Because what all these channels don't tell you is the most important thing. YOU ARE BUYING GEAR FOR YOURSELF NOT FOR ANYONE ELSE. So buy what gives you joy to play be it dirt cheap or stupidly expensive. What is right for someone else is meaningless for you. And remember, most people buy online now, so the trolls will now reply "it helps us know whats good" WRONG it helps you know what company is sending free gear to you tubers. And if they dont praise it, they wont get more. Not to mention, if you don't like it it you can in almost always send it back for a refund or credit towards another item to try. Buy gear for yourself, not because of what others say. This is how to get gear you will keep a lifetime and love.

I’ve been checking out Baum guitars online, but it’s nice to hear one played. Excellent review. Just looking at them, the Carve is my favorite of their current line. I’m really glad you did a playing demo, but I have to disagree with you on the sound-what I heard is way too muddy for me. Not what I’d expect from P-90- style pickups. Maybe it’s the amplifier settings, but I didn’t like the sounds at all. I’m a Tele player, so I like a pretty bright tone, and good P-90s can come close to that-but these don’t. Otherwise the guitar seems quite nice-it looks great, even the headstock-but I’d have to change the pickups, or maybe use 500kOhm pots, or even 1meg ones, if that wwould help. I don’t expect it to sound like a Tele, but I would like it to sound ike a good P-90. Just my two cents.

I totally respect that. I do think the Marshall is adding to some of the reported madness but yes it could do with a bit of bottom end cut out of it sometimes maybe there was just too much Bass on the Amp but in the room it sounded very clear.
