UPDATE - The Backplate on this device is connected to the CPU for heat dissipation via thermal pad. It does get warm over a few hrs but not hot.

Too late I already bought it and it is the best handheld I’ve ever owned (and I’ve had many over the years), it is ridiculously good in like every department.

Any heating issues?
@Arcad3n6 күн бұрын
I use MinUI with a few extra custom cores, and I’ve never noticed any heat. I’ve heard it happens if you run DS or psp or Dreamcast, but I don’t bother with those since they don’t run great anyway.
@Healthy_Toki3 күн бұрын
this or spring for a higher tier device (RP5, Odin 2)?
@Arcad3n3 күн бұрын
If you’ve got the money and want higher end systems that’s probably a good idea. But if you want the best console in this specific price bracket this is the one to get.

Clicky not squishy. Squishy not clicky. This reminds me... Look after your mental health guys. If you hear yourself repeatedly saying clicky and squishy, maybe talk to a friend about it. You don't have to cope with this alone.

One note that I believe can help you here. Stating that you "assume" the metal back plate is not taking up any heat from the CPU is where I stopped watching. There are numerous reviews already showing that it does exactly that. Either you did not see those or you didn't open the device to physically check, both scenarios come off as a miss. I'm not hating just pointing out that this type of content has a gold standard that is already being provided to us.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! I always strive to improve my content, and your insights are valuable. It's tough doing 4 of these a month in my free time.
@SteveCutajar3lrsc13 күн бұрын
If you're right in 8 areas and maybe miss in 2.. it doesn't make the review bad 😅 one can also assess things for themselves. If the world moves that way all of us would never have finished and form of education. I don't see it as a biggie...
@jurjcluners849013 күн бұрын
So are you perfect at everything you do? You still gave him a view and you commented, upping his metrics... I think the miss was you stating your disdain was some kind of clever zinger when you just come off as childish.

How does it compare to the rg35xx plus?
@jurjcluners849013 күн бұрын
They're essentially the same across the board with the Brick being just a tad bit more powerful being able to do some DS emulation. Id look at the 35xxsp for that extra protection from the clamshell design so you don't have to worry about the screen being unprotected or spend more money getting a case.
@DaveyG12 күн бұрын
Pretty darn close in power
@steffanchristensen546412 күн бұрын
Cant desuden which one I want as they seem quite similar except for the design differences (I am ok with either). If the power is also similar I guess it must come down to the user interface. Any thoughts?

This has to be one of the most disappointing or poorly thought-out reviews of the Trimui Brick I've come across. Let me address a few points: -The aluminum backside is actually connected to the CPU, serving as a heatsink. Please do your research before making assumptions. -How could you overlook the fact that this device features an outstanding display? It leaps ahead from the 480p screens of other handhelds into the HD era for Linux-based emulation devices. With future software updates, this device has the potential to become the ultimate Miyoo Mini V4 killer. It’s a serious contender that shouldn't be dismissed.
@DaveyG14 күн бұрын
Ah, the classic "disappointing review" comment! It's like the Trimui Brick's display-shining a light on what I might have missed. Honestly the screen didn't impress me due to it coming with the brightness and saturation turned all the way down to 30%. But I’ll have to upgrade my review game to 480p next time!

@@DaveyGSo you failed to check a basic setting before conducting your "review"? And yet you felt the need to make a sarcastic response to some valid criticism from one of your viewers? Hilariously inept.

Its pretty neat but a hard compete with the miyoo mini v4 about $30 less from China. Wonder if I'm the only one that doesn't like being distracted by rgb lighting? might be a fun gimmick for raves or something lol. Plus the custom firmware in miyoo is a better quality of life option. :D

This is the video I was looking for. I was think about getting this to play mostly GBA, GBC, and DS games, with a light amount of PS1 and PSP (RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions). I'm not super worried about the widescreen letterboxing since I grew up with a CRT TV. I am however, concerned it's going to be a whole pain in the neck to find ROM hacks that cut out the touch functionality on DS. I'd really prefer a dedicated handheld experience. Do any of these top 5 have touch display or do I just stick with getting a blutooth controller for my phone? Thanks for the video! ✌
@DaveyG13 күн бұрын
Hey, no problem! As for touchscreen the Annernic RG406V has one and android but is very large. There is a video review on the channel already so I’d check that one out if you’re looking for a touchscreen. Cheers 🍻
@jurjcluners849013 күн бұрын
Like Davey said, Anbernic might be a better route for you considering they almost always put a touch screen along with Android on their devices. Rg353p was my first handheld and it's done DS and PSP and PS1 perfectly fine.

I bought it to replace both my Miyoos (v4 and +), screen is so much better. Sadly no Onion but that's it. It beats the RG35XX too and pretty much any other handeld in this price range. This feels like a rushed and poorly done review tbh :/
