Before You Buy Your First Camera... - Photography for Beginners (Part 1)

If you're new to photography and are looking to buy your first camera, here's some advice for you.
We live in the golden age of cameras. If you buy the right camera today, you may not need to upgrade for many, many years. But that's IF you buy the right camera.
When you're only starting to learn photography, I encourage you to forget about researching cameras for the time being and, instead, focus on learning the craft. Borrow a camera from a friend or a family member that isn't using theirs (I'm sure you can find someone).
Borrowing a camera not only lets you learn the craft of photography without having to invest any money up front, it allows you to learn what you like and don't like about the camera that you're using so that you have better judgement when finally buying your first camera!

Good points. I have a query, there is a used Nikon D3200 at $230 with kit lens and a Canon 550D/T2i with kit lens for $270. Which one is the best buy, especially for video recording and portrait shooting?

That's a tough one... Both are great cameras and I'm actually going to be using a 550D/T2i for this series. If you have the option to try them both out, you should see which feels and handles better for you.

CamCrunch - Photography For Beginners I'm more tempted to get the D3200 for the value and also i've watched comparison between this camera and I think the T3i or T4i and in some aspects the D3200 is better (e.g continuous autofocus which is useful for video). But i also like the colors and dynamic range that the Canon produces... Well tough decision as you said
