Since we have gone to streaming we don’t surf the channels nearly as much and we actually enjoy what we watch even more. I found that surfing the channels only did one thing, it confirmed there was nothing worth watching.

This was a really good 101 cord cutting video wished I could of seen this when I but the cord in 2017. I've got some options that I love now and I save a ton of money each month. Thanks again. For the video Philip

Excellent video and tips for new cord cutters. If you’re new to streaming and still want to use Live TV it’s a good idea to look at cheaper options and only use Live TV when you need it. I use Philo only when new seasons of Yellowstone or Better Call Saul air on their respective networks. Besides that most of my shows are on demand so Live TV isn’t a necessity as it once was. In terms of devices if you have an older Smart TV like I do a Roku Ultra or a Stick is an awesome option and definitely isn’t as much as say a Smart TV. At some point I’ll upgrade my TV in my living room but I have no real reason to do it right now.

The streaming device you end up picking I would say is important too. With a smart tv, the app support might become outdated in 5 years or so but if you're in the market for a new tv, stream on the tv as much as possible and put off buying a dongle or a new blu-ray player that has newer streaming software. In the world of 4K HDR streaming, your tv might provide you with the best experience.

I cut the court years ago and I'm happy that I did. cable company charge too damn much. And every time you turn around the price is going up. Now if people want to keep the cord that's up to them. But there is so much better out there And lots of money you can save. I don't want to even name Most of the cable companies. But they know who they are. I just pay for Internet With Wi-Fi That's all I need. And the rest I do myself. Some of the prices I hear that people pay for cable is ridiculous. And then they wonder why people are cutting the cord. Streaming now is what it's all about. I'm satisfied with it. With fire stick. You have it all in the Palm of your hands

You are very good at explaining the steps of cord cutting. I have my cable and internet through Spectrum. Of course I can’t do without Internet. Im retired and with fixed income I really think I need to cancel cable part. I really only watch but regular channels anyway so it’s really a waste of money. What is keeping me from canceling cable is I want to try to experiment before I cut the cord and return my cable box but I’m nervous I’ll mess something up. I have a tv in each of my bedrooms that aren’t cable. They are hooked up to OTA antennae. I was wondering if I could just unhook one of those antennaes and hook it up to my main 2017 Samsung Smart 55” TV that I have in my living area and see how it works for me. Problem is, I don’t know how and I don’t want to mess anything up with my internet either. Also, I don’t have a high wall behind my main Samsung Smart tv or it isn’t near a window and the tv really only is visible from sitting area in one location in my family room so I don’t want to move it. Finally, and I apologize for the long and much too wordy comment but my question is, “Do you have a video that would give me detailed step-by-step instruction on what I’m trying to achieve? Or can you refer me to someplace that can give me detailed instructions.

When moving to a new house my wife and i had the installer come out to hook us up with internet and cable TV. When I asked how much cable was going to cost a month he said something like $120. I told him to forget cable and just hook up internet. I've been streaming ever since and that was three years ago.

My family have been cord cutters before it. Was call cord cutting we end our cable subscribtion way back in the lat 80s or early 90s because it was too expensive so most of my childhood and even now we been using antennas we only briefly had satillite in the late 2000s but went back to an antenna but now its easier to cut the cord with my favorite apps like plutotv and tubi i use plutotv alot and only have two premium streaming apps thats paramount plus and curiosity stream since i love documentaries

While dropping off a couple cable boxes and a modem from my summer residence I was talking to a COX rep who claims all of the streaming services that offer the same programing as cable, like HBO, SHOWTIME, will be going up in price. He said this because their cost of programing has be gone up. The big question for me is will the streaming services still be cheaper for what I a interesting in. I am also hearing COX is not going to play the game if you cancel the cable company won't be calling you begging to come back at a lower price. This for years has been a big game that has gone on where I live. Cancel Cox, go to Verizon for a new subscriber deal, cancel Verizon and go back to COX, or just tell them your cancelling at the end of the month and start waiting for the calls to beg not to leave. Could be just a threat? Has anyone else found this to be the case?

I am waiting for my contract to end I use att Uverse u200 with a few extras, with the streaming I can get all the channels. If I move to direct stream will be 93.99, but I will save around 30 to 40 dollars a month. when streaming my internet drops and resets, but if I watch TV use the laptop resets every now and then. I made a spreadsheet with what I like to watch network id, and call letters., I already use prime and utube all the free options. I am thinking of getting T-mobile for the internet I can see two towers from my house. I get good internet from my phone.

Tip #0 Determine whether your internet service is a) reliable and b) able to handle streaming to the number of sets you will use simultaneously. If you use one company for cable TV and internet, the internet service will be no more reliable than the TV service. If video streaming KZbin to one PC at 720P is marginal, then streaming 1080 to a large TV will be worse unless you raise your plan to increase the download speed.

My daughter has me on her phone plan but I have no internet except that. I have cord and am so scared to cut the cord because right now we get free internet in a couple of weeks because of government but will lose it eventually so I don’t know what to do. I want my own phone plan, internet, tv. HELP. What should a poor person do?

If you really want to cut the cord, install a good quality tv antenna on the roof for best reception and quit paying monthly fees. If you can, stay away from indoor tv antennas, they are just too hit or miss.
