i love the detail you blinked to see what the storyteller was saying, most people only listen to elle's version.

I feel like the game could have done better at hinting for people to blink at this part, too many playthroughs I've seen try and keep their eyes open and only listen to the Mother's story. I think it's important to realize the ferry captain is using the Mother's story to help him through the gates

I think that’s perfectly clear without listening to the storyteller. It’s hammered home really hard before you meet the cat.

I blinked back and forth between the two. I find it more emotional when they both tell the story

I couldn't control my blinking because I was crying so much, so it was constantly switching back and forth. It definitely enhanced the experience for me.

I honestly think it's more powerful to just listen to ellies version

The first memory Ben had of his mother said "Why are you smiling like that? You must really like it out here, huh?"

Benjamin Brynn was born into an ordinary home, to an ordinary mother and father, in an isolated small town by the sea….His mother was a composer, or, at least that’s what she dreamed she’d be. So, when her own dreams didn’t plan out, she began a dream for him. But then…when he was just 11 years old, he got sick, and was forced to stay inside for an entire year. And in that year he began to worry that he hadn’t lived enough, so he made up a story…of the great life he thought he wanted to live. Which only made him forget the great life he already had, how he had filled a nee home with light and joy and promise, how he met a girl, his neighbour, who felt all alone in the world, and he made her feel okay again….And how even when he was sick, he still gave his parents hope. How he reminded them of exactly who they were, after they had almost forgotten. So when he was going to go, he was okay…because he’d already lived a great life. A full life. And he was everything he needed to be. Just as he was.

By far, the best game I've played this year so far. The developers really nailed it when it came to immersion and profound story telling.

the sound design of this scene is phenomenal. the beats when the scene cuts to the ferryman telling benny to close his eyes and keep them closed gives me chills.

This scene is just so amazing. The flashing back and forth between Elle’s letter and Anubis speaking to the gatekeeper is so genius. This game is so amazing, such incredible storytelling.

The power of a life is like the power of a river. It's not the length between the banks that makes it powerful, but the depth of the bed.

@@OhanaMeansTime Thank you. i came up with it when I lost a friend who was only in his 30s. But he did touch my life and change the course of it.

The best thing about games like this.. is that there's more to each story and things to live for... life is short..and some can't experience it with what little time they have.. haven't shed tears like this in a long time

probably one of the most simple, yet tragic game ive evered played. I heard it was gonna be sad, i thought i'd have to deal with Ernie dying.... but i fucking died.

Can someone explain the "why is he smiling like that? He must be somewhere he likes" part
@notacatjustahuman7 ай бұрын
That's when Benjamin passed away, closing his eyes for a final time. And yet, he's smiling because he's going somewhere he likes (some interpret this to be Heaven, but that's left up in the air). He's not in pain anymore.
