1:00:10 Per the official FAQs on BGG: “Q. Can you elaborate on action timing? A. “Before this action” and “before/when attempting a” effects resolve after playing a skill card but before boosting. “After this action” effects resolve after completing or failing the challenge.” You failed the challenge and rolled the dark. You should have lost at that point - losing 1 health +1 for Callous Grows Angry. If you had survived the fail effects, then you could have resolved the ability.

I'm eagerly waiting for my pre-ordered copy to get released for shipping 😊 Question about timing: when you played Noble Education at 1:01:38, you moved the progress from Callous to Immortality first before attempting the challenge. However, the card reads "After this action". I'm pretty sure "after this action" effects resolve after completing or failing the challenge. So I think this would have resulted in a loss since failing the challenge would have cost you guys to lose your last health. But perhaps I'm misunderstanding the timing of Noble Education?

Hi there, "Step 1" on a players turn is "Play a Skill Card as an Action (If Desired)", so following the play of that card is the appropriate time to move that progress onto the 'Immortality' card. "Step 2" is Boost the Action (referring to the card played in Step 1), "Step 3" is Roll the Dice and "Step 4" is Complete or Fail the Challenge. Hope that helps clear things up!

We both really like Kemet, it’s one of my (Naveen) favorite games in that genre. Unfortunately we won’t be covering it anytime soon though, I think it plays really well at the 3+ player count.

@53:38 Don't you recharge the lantern as a reward for completing the challenge? @1:05:47 Wait.. what color is the Callous enemy card? Does the rolled white match the color of the challenge (for Immortality)? Or is Immortality flipped?

Hi there, no unfortunately not. You would need to find another effect that charges the players lantern. In regards to your second question, the “challenge” attempted was red and a red die face was rolled. Hope that helps!

Is Firebolt misprinted in Roland’s deck? His card says “+2 for each [FLAME] you discard” not “in your discard”. I don’t see a way to discard cards during a challenge though.

That card lets you discard from your hand to boost its value. Naveen actually had it at the best possible time to have it.

When fighting immortality, the card says “after this action”, but you placed the progress *before* rolling to defeat immortality. You should have lost your last health there :(

Hi there, attempting a 'Challenge' is a 4 step process: 1. Play a skill card as an action (if desired) 2. Boost the action up to 2 times 3. Roll the dice 4. Complete or fail the challenge So the appropriate time to move the progress off of Callous and onto Immortality would be after Step 1 (as this is the action card). Hope that makes sense!

@@BeforeYouPlay I see what you’re saying (that it should basically occur between steps 2 and 3), but I’m not sure that’s the correct interpretation of that card. I still feel unsure that that’s the intended interpretation of the card-it just seems odd to me, but I’ll take your word for it. Either way, thank you for introducing me to the Delve series!

In this instance the point is moot as they should have lost a turn earlier (see my comment/timestamp).

Is this game dramatically different from the other kinfire delve games? I haven't played any of them yet.

No, all have the same rules. Just different characters to play as, and different enemies to battle.

Yeah, the rules are the same, the difference are the different characters with a new decks/abilities and the enemies mix up the puzzle a bit.
