They don’t really emphasize it much, but one of the dangers of using the teleportation circles is that they’re Orsted’s main method of getting around. If they accidentally let word slip and the circles get destroyed, it’d be the equivalent of taking the dragon god’s car for a joyride and crashing it in a ditch. The last thing Rudy wants is to get into conflict with him again.

@@aeirie-ii1993 To remind people that Nanahoshi, who gave Rudeus a panic attack when she introduced herself, becuase she is the person who traveled with Orsted when he met them both, and states in previous episodes that she traveled with him using portals, realy is the person who traveled with Orsted using portals?.... The reason why it is in the anime is because it was one for one in the Light novel, and they are very closely following the LN... Rarely they skipp stuff, and when they do they reintroduce it later on most of the time.

@@aeirie-ii1993 In the novels it goes more in depth. The teleporters are from the Dragon Tribe Era. The only ones alive (and who'd be aware of their existence) are Orsted and maybe the Armored God. Rudy figured Orsted leaves extra clothes in those for when he needs to change for different climates. Begaritt is a desert, and Northern Central is snowy, so he changes when he goes from one to the other.

3:15 funny you would put up an image like that because in part of what was cut from this episode, Rudeus goes to Cliff's lab to check in to see how Elinalise breaking the news to Cliff went down, and well: "Cliff was sitting slumped in a corner of the room, looking a bit like an Egyptian mummy. There was a big smile on his face, but he was obviously passed out. He actually looked more like a masterpiece than his girlfriend. What would you title a statue like this? Blissful Demise?"

I'm sure this has been posted before, but a lot of season two has been paced rapidly since these volumes are the thickest in the series. It would have been well served to have a frieren style 16 episode cour or 28 episode season. A lot of world building stuff was cut this ep, but I get it since they're trying to get all the main bits to fit 12 episodes. This ep covered not only the preparation and fairwells, but also 6 weeks of travel in like 18 minutes The first season covered about 2 chapters per episode, but this season has been doing about 3 per ep for a lot of them. Not all, mind you Correction: apparently this episode covers 4 or 5 chapters

The episode is good, they cut out a lot of unnecessary things: Lisa's indecision to go on the road, a long journey, details of life at the bazaar, but what really hurts me is that they cut out the battle with bandits while guarding a merchant on the way to Begaritt

@@mohammedraihaaan2251 Just imagine. Rudeus and Lisa accompany the caravan, and they are ambushed by a bunch of bandits. There is a brutal chase, Rudeus uses a giant mud swamp, doom curtains. Simply put, the moment is very epic.

6:37 that was actually a concern he had that got cut. He didn't want a girl being named Rudeus Jr. 15:44 Nanahoshi used the teleportation circles with Orsted. He actually uses them to get around, and uses them as basically locker rooms. There were supposed to be more of those coats (along with water canteens), and they changed the order of events too - Elinalise was actually supposed to have gotten back before Rudeus sees the coats, and Elinalise asks if Rudeus is worried about this "Osted person." 24:50 The LN goes into detail when they arrive - Rapan is called the labyrinth town because after the second North God, Kalman II and his companions killed the behemoth those bones belong too, hordes of giant ants ate the rest of the meat off of it and made a bunch of tunnel systems around the body that turned into labyrinths because of the mana leftover from all the dead monster bodies (the behemoth and later the ants). I recommend getting volume 11 of the LN before next episode if you can and reading chapters 13-14 because the anime cut the entire Warriors of the Desert bit that happens before they get to Rapan. Not super crucial to the story, but it has a lot of worldbuilding for the Begaritt continent.

I wish they included a quick scene of Elinalise also getting handsy with Rudeus just to express how Elinalise is struggling with her curse AND how Rudy is holding her off. I like how they’re both equally helping each other get through this journey. There’s also an entire story arc during this journey that was also cut which continued to building on this strong relationship Rudy and Elinalise have with each other and having each others back. The whole journey is a cool bonding experience and you get to learn a lot about the culture of this continent when they meet and interact with new people. They speak a different language on this continent so Elinalise can’t actually communicate or understand what anyone says, but Rudy can so he translates. There’s a great scene where a character gets really angry and yells at Rudeus for something and Elinalise gets between them and yells back defending him. Then she sweetly comforts Rudy and reassures him not to feel down or second guess himself and that he should stand strong in his beliefs.

Eh, a lot of things were cut out in the series, if you want you can read it, briefly saying what was cut out: Orsted uses these teleportation circles to travel around the world. Orsted made Nanahoshi swear that she would keep it a secret since it was forbidden magic. Nanahoshi couldn't remember their location. Therefore, while traveling with Orsted, she drew or bought maps. To find out their location, she "randomly" asked Orsted about it and took notes so that someday, if necessary, I could use them. Monsters missed: sandworms, phalanx ants, bats (about 50 cm in length), garudas (feathered dinosaurs), hippopotamus (they met one while traveling, it is about 100 meters, and in general their size is from 100 to 1000 meters). Now about succubi (they met them several times in LN): succubi emit pheromones (showed pink smoke). Because of him, men get excited, they see a beautiful woman in a succubus, and this is how they lure men. You can get rid of pheromones either by detoxification magic or by sleeping with a woman. Next is the trip to Begarit (they missed almost the entire trip), the main thing they missed: Traveling through the desert, they saved a group of people (among whom was a merchant) from griffins. After that they came to the city of "Bazaar". There they met Galban (the same merchant), he invited them to join his caravan (they were also going to the Labyrinth City). On the way, they were attacked by a pack of robbers (100 people they could see). One person from the group died (there were only 6 of them, including Rudeus and Elinalise). Orsted’s coat was there because he uses the teleportation circles to get around. That’s how Nanahoshi knew about them in the first place. He uses the ruins that teleportation circles are in as a “camp”, so he keeps things there for when he needs them.

Some LN Extra Details (Volume 11 Chapter 8-12/14?) provided by RizalBoon on Muse Asia - For the first time, Rudy is going to disregard Hitogami's advice - Elinalise trying to convince Rudy that Geese might be jumped to conclusions and sent the letter early. He might also sent the letter because of Paul's pride because of his previous letter. - Rudy says goodbye to Linia and Pursena and asked to keep being friends and keep in contact - Nanahoshi told Rudy of the teleportation circles that she and Orsted used to travel throughout the world. With that, it would only took around 94 days round trip instead of 2 years - The quicker travel method convinced Elinalise to follow when she started to change her mind because of not wanting to leave Cliff - Naming a baby before leaving for a journey is a taboo in this world, based on Perugius's story of his companion, Feroze Star the Emperor-tier Fire mage facing the exact thing when naming and leaving hic child to battle Demon King Ryner Kaizel. - Rudy borrowed `An Exploratory Account of the Teleportation Labyrinth`, The Begaritt Continent` and the Fighting-God Tongue` from the library as well as reference incase he has communication issues there - It took 5 days to reach the nearby teleportation circle in the forest. - They fought green boar before reaching the teleportation cirle and Elinalise shows how - The incantation to remove the barrier seems to refer to Holy Dragon Emperor Shirad, which is one of the Five Dragon Generals from the old stories. - Rudeus freeze a water bottle and cool down the air around them to keep up with the temperature - They also encountered other monsters such as Treant, Sandworm, an army of Phalanx Ants, Giant Bat, Raptors and Garudas in their days in the desert, - Rudeus carrying spices reminds Elinalise of Geese doing the same, Rudeus thinks that was common with rogue adventurers and he often seems them carrying spices during his adventuring with Soldat's party. Differences from LN - Simplified Rudy's farewell with Linia and Pursena - Elinalise is a bit more dramatic and and keeps changing her mind between going to Begaritt or staying with Cliff after his proposal - Cliff's marriage proposal was made during his talk with Rudy and Elinalise that was skipped in the anime - The farewell with Rudy's friends is a bit weird in LN, the farewell that Rudy did with most of the people is before he found out about the teleportation circle, so they thought they won't be around for two years at least and Linia and Pursena may already graduated by then. - They skipped the chapters where Rudeus got the job of a guard/mercenary. It introduced some characters that had some minor importance in the future. Won't share much about it as they might show it in the future.

The transition during the teleportation was a nice touch. It reminded me of how Rudeus described the experience of teleportation in the LN even though the anime cut it out completely. Still, the observant would notice that the transition frame is remarkably similar to something else.

A small spoiler warning for some of the skip content that's kind of amusing to know about succubus on the continent: Succubus are such a problem on the continent that basically all adventuring and Merchant Caravans have at least1-2 female adventurers or guards with them on top of any other men just to take care of them and then to get the guys to actually snap out of it. Because they really do not know detoxification magic and the men won't snap out of it for the most part unless. (No joke in the LN they're actually surprised that Rudy can do that without having to do it.)

The simplest regret that comes to mind is that Rudy either just misses the majority of Sylphie’s pregnancy or he misses it completely by at least a day or so. The biggest is that someone dies, but I wonder if he might run into Eris, and Rudy being Rudy, he reacts negatively before learning the truth of her sudden disappearance. Also, Eris being Eris, she does a shitty job trying to explain herself initially. Then, there is the chance of actually running into Orstead.

@@FreshestAnime dude I love them. From my point of view, they cut out a whole lot of the journey to Rapan, like 4 chapters in the actual novel. I don't personally have a problem with it as the actual labyrinth arc is more important and I'm glad they're taking 5 episodes to cover it. Tho it does take away from the worldbuilding and local culture a lil bit. Overall a very good adaptation tho.

The adaptation was good, though I thought they were going to skip the succubus scene but they skipped a different scene instead. Also many of the inner thoughts and dialogues are cut, obviously cus they can't fit everything into a 20 minute episode. In an ideal world with infinite time and money there would 2 or 3 times as many episodes to properly adapt the LN

To your question at the end: (no Spoilers) As far as Light Novel adaptation goes it was a bit rushed, I must say. I cannot blame them because the pacing of this adaptation is usually 4 anime episodes per Volume of the light novel, and the current volume has a shit ton of content unlike any other previous volume before. They skipped minor points such as Elenalise & Cliff conversation before she departed, and once in Begaritte, they skipped some interesting world building about local Flora & Fauna, also they explain at length the situation with the succubi and why they are present in Begaritte and also skipped their interaction with the local people & warriors. I understand, it's a good enough adaptation, there is a lot to be covered, something has to be cut. It's nice to have had read the novels beforehand though. If Joe ever listens to the Audio Books until this volume (LN 12) he will understand.
