For me it was Sylphy. She knew, her first time wouldn't be that pleasant, but still decided to help Rudy. I hate how Luke talked about Sylphy, that was rude even if it was honest. I bet she has enough insecurities about herself without Luke's talk... Also, he was totally wrong about Rudy being a "conventional" Greyrat in that sense.

Here's the thing about the "censorship" of the sex scene: the author didn't exactly write any details of that scene in the LN in the first place - in fact, Studio Bind adapted it almost perfectly. But you're right - the anime community wants to turn everything into a hentai.

Not counting the aphrodisiac that is something external, Sylphie did two things that Sara and Eris didn't do. First, when Rudeus didn't react, she didn't blame him or run away, she stayed next to him and they talked, they talked until it was natural again. Sara just ran away when she felt hurt . But most importantly, the next day after doing it, she came back (Not like the miss "I will write him a letter even though I barely know how to write like an 8 year old kid", Eris). You can see Rudeus' fear when he wakes up and not seeing Sylphie next to him, he blames himself even though it was Sylphie's idea and when he saw her return, he couldn't hold back his tears and the little boy came back to life.

Two things Joe, When Rudy woke up and saw the bed beside him empty, his PTSD kicked in and he thought he was abandoned again. And when Rudy proposed he remembered what Paul said to him, how he took responsibility for Zenith when he got her pregnant with Rudy and how he didn't even tried to hide the fact that he cheated on Zenith with Lillia, so, basically thanks to Paul's lessons on being responsible for his actions, Rudy proposed to Sylphie

Man this was a great season. Many people will think its the juice that fixed his ed. But it was definitely the fact that she was still with him after they did the deed, unlike Eris. So his trust in women, especially Silphie, has come back. Also, Luke really showed us how much the Greyrat family knows their shit. They picked a topic and didnt pull out.

They changed it a bit. In the LN when he woke up they were both still there naked on the bed and she said good morning to him. That's why he got really emotional because she was still there after they had sex. kinda cure his trauma and ED altogether. I still like the way they do this though but I can't help but wonder what it would feel like if they did the scene like in the LN. It kinda warms my heart even just reading it.

More than the impotence, pretty sure what Rudy felt was overwhelming relief that Sylphie actually came back. It's a big part of why Rudeus even had the impotency problem in the first place. He's had this fear of failure and abandonment all that time and that this fear is what keeps the tower down. Or at least it used to. With Sylphie, he feels secure. When she confessed back in the cave, she even explicitly said words like "please never leave me again. I want to stay with you." It's what Rudeus needs in his romantic life- a relationship where he feels secure.

And all Sylphie is doing is taking it upon herself to help Rudy with why he’s even at the university in the first place: find a cure for his impotence. Sylphie does NOT deserve an L at all.

10:30 I think you missed a major detail here - there's 2 possibilities for him almost breaking down again 1) He's actually having flashbacks of Eris (the absence of Sylphie) 2) It's possible it's blood on the sheets (hence Luke's warning) which also contributes to Rudy thinking Sylphie left on a negative note. At that moment I felt really bad for him too- good thing it was onyl a couple seconds but man those few seconds hit hard.

Nah, manga was better. When he woke up he instantly freaked out remembering how he looked at the bed and Eris was gone, then he looked for Sylphy and there she was, no signs of disappearing. He got so relieved and thought "I wasn't left again", that moment was magical.

4:45 Joe, the thing is, Rudeus was hella open about his problem. The anime didn't quite show it, but his whole homeroom class knows about it from him telling them. He just expects it to be known, since, to him, sex is what he's about. Or...would be about. 8:50 That was Luke's point. This potion was to FORCE it to happen. He was trying to warn her...it gonna be rough, and the novel was fairly clear that it really was. However, as we see, the bangin wasn't what fixed him. It was the possibility that she would not be gone in the morning, like Eris did. Rudy's trauma had to do with "Once I have given myself to someone, they will be done with me. As long as I can't fuck, they won't duck." I get it. My teens through most of my 20's where kinda like that, minus the ED, and kinda the other way around, me thinking I had to put out so "they" would love me, but more than 100 girls later, I finally realized that sex did not mean they were staying. 😮

Actually, most everyone already knows about Rudy's impotence at the school. Rudy himself wasn't keeping it a secret and the Princess had already heard rumors that was the case but didn't believe them until Sylphie confirmed it. They did such a good job adapting this season. The whole arc with Fitz/Sylphie is one of my favorites from the books. Their relationship is my favorite and its so wholesome. I loved the way they portrayed them returning back to the city from the Forest of Hail. It was actually a 3 day journey, so showing them holding hands, holding each other, and getting to catch up was really beautiful.

She is a much better healer than he is. She can also cast healing magic incantless and he will never learn to do that. Rudeus´ impotance was not due to heart break, but do to not trusting women. He was certain he would be left behind every time. It was this trust that needed to be fixed, his ED was just a symptom of it. He will despise Eris for this for a long time and never really trust her any more as much.

This episode really showed that Rudy needed that extra push, and the real trauma was his fear that Sylphie would leave him just like Eris did. Also I get your point about Sylphie drinking during her first time, but hey sometimes you need a confidence boost. Just don’t make a habit of it.

In the light novels, by this point Rudy has actually just announced his problem to the entire special class, so all Sylphiette does is confirm that the rumour Ariel had heard was in fact true. There's a fair amount of cut content in this cour, but it's mostly minor details like that. A couple of bits annoy me - them skipping the discussion of Battle Aura entirely sucks. Hopefully they'll explain that later on, but it's a fairly important concept so you really understand just how much of a glass cannon Rudy really is.

But Zanoba, Cliff, Pursena, Lilia, Elinalise (obviously), Badigadi (maybe?) all knew about it already. edit: So while yes, its generally better not to share personal details about people, if you consider that Ariel & Luke have been helping Sylphie progress her and Rudeus relationship (which would cure Rudeus), its a fair price to pay. Also, in the novels there were already rumors that Rudeus was impotent. So Linia / Pursena probably already leaked that info.
