MARTY! I've wanted to play the guitar my whole life but I was to busy being a grown up with to many responsibilities. I'm 71 now, and I'm glad I found you! I'm hooked, and I refuse to grow up any more. Looking forward to your lessons!!! Thank you, Rick

Hey, man, ever since being stuck in quarantine I've picked up guitar and looked through many websites, apps, and videos teaching guitar to beginners. Dude, you are by-far the best in the biz when it comes to guitar lessons on KZbin. I love how it's just one (or 2 easy) chords per lesson. Really gives us beginners the opportunity to focus on learning one thing at a time without being overwhelmed on day 2 lol. Just wanted to say thanks, you've been an amazing resource!

I never comment on social media...ever...but I am so grateful to find out about you and I think everyone needs to know :) Especially, my father, whose last known guitar song was "There was an Old Lady that Swallowed a Fly", lol. Aside from that exposure, I came from a background of piano and the guitar was always something I wanted to begin, but just couldn't seem to shift my thinking over from keys to strings. I have tried several times over the years and almost gave up, but since watching your first lesson, I am strumming chords and making music with an ease, confidence, happiness I've never felt before. Thank you, Marty, you are an incredibly insightful, fun, and inspiring teacher and I will recommend you to everyone I know.

Hi Marty, I took up guitar as a teenager but didn't continue. Instead, I became a drummer in my early twenties and have played for nearly 40 years. I play & sing in a gospel band & last Christmas, my wife bought me a beautiful Martin acoustic six string guitar. She knew how I regretted not keeping up with the guitar and sensed my frustration when I come out from behind my drum kit to be the lead vocalist, yet have to rely on the guitar player for the music. So, I came across your podcast recently and am really enjoying your presentation style and how you teach. I'll keep following your lessons as they're really easy to learn. Thanks brother, Regards Andy

I got much better than I ever was but since I taught myself I never found the right flow and sound. I decided to relearn everything using your videos and it has really been helping me, and this is someone talking with previous guitar experience, so I can’t imagine how many beginners you’ve helped. Your lesson series is superb Marty - thank you. I've tried learning various different things off KZbin but the lesson series I've tried to follow have invariably been useless. The pace is just right for me, and the reassurance that everything will sound rubbish to begin with is very welcome indeed. Actually my G sounded all right straight off, and, listening to your comments, I found myself feeling pleased with myself that it wasn't too plunky! I must say I can't get the A chord to sound nice though. I'm finding a 2-1-3 fingering working best at the moment, but I'm still struggling to get my fingers reliably near enough to the fret without touching each others' strings. Bah!

This series might be 4 years old by the time I started watching it but I'll say it anyway. Thank you. I love the casual learning style and you really take your time to break notes down and show possibilities. Big thumbs up wish I would have seen these 4 years ago lol. Better late than never!

Wish I had you teaching me when I was fourteen. My uncle influenced me with his 10+ guitar collection but truly never really thought me correctly from the beginning. Now that I am 50 my love for guitar and getting back to it has been sparked again thanks to your beginner video lessons. I can’t believe how much I learned in these first three lessons and how your techniques and insights are helping me get back to playing right away. 👏

I am 59 years old, never played a musical instrument......well the recorder in grade school....LOL. My dad learned to play guitar by ear when he was a young man and I have wanted to learn for some time now. I received an acoustic guitar as an early Christmas present. I have now taken the first 3 lessons and am amazed that I have learned the 3 chords ( not well.....this will take some practice.) Marty you are a great teacher with very clear straight forward instruction and you make it fun with your energetic personality. Many thanks!!😊
