Nice collection, if you polish the wires in iris petals, you may find that they are fine silver wire. The blue charger with the spider is pre Meiji, often called middle ware.

Truthfully, I'll probably never sell my Japanese cloisonné, and I can't sell the turtle. He was in my very first KZbin video! Hahaha, otherwise, I have a good deal of Satsuma and Imari wares. And all of the Chinese cloisonné is for sale...though shipping the large fella would be a bit...haha

I'm the exact opposite! Haha, I gravitate towards the Japanese, and would only sell the Chinese. Yeah, I don't hold anyone's tastes against them. It barely makes sense that I like cloisonné more than paintings or ceramic, ya know what I mean? Ya just like what you like. Haha

Dude, I almost moved on, then you said something about viewers donating quality items to your channel, and in a fraction of a second later you toss the entire display. It hurt, but admittedly, I laughed out loud. Anyhow, I have been casually collecting cloisinne for 25-30 years and have only recently begun to learn about it. I mostly bought the pieces I bought because I found it pretty and it was within my (low) budget. I am scared to watch any further because I am nervous what might get broken. I am actually thinking that this is planned and it would explain the quality of the pieces? I'm I giving you a thumbs up though because you made me laugh and your video ended before I finished my comment. Good luck to the Creator and may I suggest he buy online. Safety inside a collectable/antique store would be questionable, at best.

Yusen Jippo is enamel with wires. Musen Jippo is enamel with no wires. Less specifically, it is "Shippo", or enamel. Once you add a prefix, like Musen or Yusen, it becomes Jippo. I'm not a language expert, but that's how I understand it. Haha

I don't believe so, friend. The cloisons on the back, the open background of the turquoise ring, and the shading of the birds and flowers are all indicative of a Japanese piece. I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I do not believe I am in this case.

The big Chinese vase is a type of cloisonne, however, it is designed very similarly to porcelain examples. The wire cloisonnes are there and are filled with enamels on a copper alloy body.
