Many thanks for your video and I found it of some use. Can you say, please, if I attach a recently-ordered MIDI cable linking my Technics SX-PR603 digital piano to my Windows 8.1 PC and start playing, Finale will listen and notate it straight onto the staves? I've been warned that I will have to be play robotically, so that Finale can group chords, etc correctly, to avoid me having to do lots of editing. I'm currently using the free version as the full cost is rather expensive for me right now and want to get a good feel for Finale. I had been using Sibelius, but it's overly complicated for my use and only really write arrangements for piano/organ. Two problems exist currently in my test piece, written in 3/4 time: stems are written to LHS of the notes, instead of the correct RHS. Also, I want to write a minim chord, but with a crotchet rest above it, to alert Finale that I want to insert a further chord. So, I have a minim chord, followed by 4 semiquavers (2nd beat) and of course, Finale thinks there are too many notes and won't let me add a further crotchet chord, totalling 3 crotchet beats. Any advice you can give would be appreciated. I have subscribed to your channel.

I came here to see what was new with Finale. I switched to Dorico because it was so easy to learn and it functions like a DAW. I still like Finale but sometimes it drives me nuts
