Just leaving a comment to say thank you for all your tutorials, I don't really watch them anymore but seeing them in my feed remind me to play more often, it's great 😊

This would have been so awesome to have this type of lesson 30 years ago. There was no KZbin when I started. Im kind of amazed that I somehow taught myself all this stuff on my own just listing to cassette tapes of guns and roses, poison, eagles, Skynyrd, ozzy, zepplen, chains, nirvana, STP, red hot CP, and so many more taps I had. I was 10 years old with a $16 Mexican acoustic from the flea market, and I learned how to tune it by ear listening to songs. How I done that actually amazes me thinking back about it. Had I had a tuner and simple lessons like this Omg I’d been doing in a year what took 3 years to do. Me and two other buddies started on the same day. We all got acoustics on the same day. And for the first 6 years I was teaching them everything. I don’t really think I was that much more talented than them, I just think when they only played when I was teaching them. I was playing relentlessly day and night. After 2 years I got a little better guitar. I’m year 6 I got an electric. And stopped teaching everyone. And I really excelled passed my buddies. Although i didn’t sit down and teach them after that, they’d still only play the simple stuff they could watch me do and pick up on it. And than I got into playing lead licks. And they stayed rhythm players. They still play til this day also. But I honestly think by this point that we’ve all 3 been playing 30 years now right at it. They’re probably just now got in as many hours playing in as I had in by year 10. One thing they do that’s really cool to me, is they still play and remember rhythms that I made up 25 years ago. And I’ve long long forgotten about them. So when ever see them ever so often and they play the original songs i tonight then years ago it’s pretty cool how they play those same songs and it brings back some cool memories.

Hey Marty I have that pattern down so well and it is amazing for most songs but I can’t hardly break myself if it. I have to fight it to not play that pattern now. I’ll start another pattern or just play a different rhythm and I end up back on it. My question is do you think it’s good to have specific patterns rather than just playing to the rhythm of the song etc? Not sure if I make sense. Thank you!!
