I used to be soooo anxious going to the gym. It took 4 times of driving there to actually walk in and use equipment other than the treadmill. But what I noticed while anxiously walking the treadmill was everyone was so focused on themselves. And then when I started working out, I was in my own world. I forgot there were other people. So truuuuust! No one cares. No one even notices.

God understands that young men want to get buff and strong (Proverbs 20:29 The glory of young men is their strength). One of the secrets to having good strength is the following (Proverbs 31:3 Do not give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.); so, stay away from fornication, pornography, touching women, lust, drunkenness, drugs, lying, stealing etc. But you can make all the gains in the world and lose allot of it weeks after you stop training. (That’s why the Bible says1 Timothy 4: 8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come) So also focus on eternity. The Bible can be summed up in 1 word. Jesus. Jesus means salvation. But you may say “what do I need to be saved from?” Sin and its consequence (which is Hell-the wrath of God). But you may say “I don’t Sin”. Jesus said all humans have sinned in thought, word, or deed, so either you are lying, or Jesus is lying. On the topic of sin have you ever lied, stolen anything, spoken abusively to or about someone, Swore, Blasphemed God’s Holy name, lusted after the opposite sex, had premarital sex, cheated, hated someone? Jesus died on the cross and experienced the wrath of God on Himself in order for you to be forgiven and reconciled with God. All you have to do is repent (change from your sinful ways) and Believe in Jesus. Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

@@8thhousealchemist600 Why should God let you into Heaven? Have you lied (even once in your entire life), looked with lust at the opposite sex, dishonoured parents, stolen anything, had hatred towards someone, had premarital sex, adultery etc If you answered yes to any one of the above then you are a sinner like the rest of us. So, I ask you again, why should God let a sinner into Heaven? Sinners don’t go to heaven they go to hell, But we are blessed to have Jesus (God incarnate) die on the Cross and rise from the dead. If you Repent (forsake your sinful, unholy ways and live righteous instead) & Believe in Jesus as God, you will be seen as a Saint and welcomed into Heaven. With the small you can fit a 15.6 inch laptop, 2 - 3 jeans or panta and at least 4 to 5 shirt and a pair of shoes(if you travel more than you go to the gym of course) and you will still have a lot of space to spear if you know how to organize it. This video is so helpful! I just started going to the gym (2 weeks tomorrow to be exact) and my first week was full of anxiety. I felt uncomfortable because I wanted to lift weights, but didn’t know how to use the machines. So I was stuck on treadmill (watched Grey’s Anatomy episodes while walking 😂). So at the beginning of week 2, I finally found courage to go up to a fit couple working out and asked if I could train with them. They were both so sweet and welcoming and even included me in their workout routine! 😭 The girl even showed me her workout schedule. We became friends and I know one day I want to be the one to help out someone new to the gym. I’m still new, but I’ve learned a lot watching videos and asking friends for help. 🙂

What I find that helps me is 1- have a plan on what your workout will consist of (equipment, # of sets n reps) 2-research before your workout the proper form and use of said equipment 3-remember why you are here in the first place. The regret of not getting in a good workout is worse than the risk of looking "goofy" in the gym or stepping outside your comfort zone. 4-EVERYONE has started from zero. Don't compare your chapter 1 to their chapter 30.

Wearing flat shoes (vans, Converse) are a good option for the gym bc when you do squats you want your feet to be as flat as possible so you're balanced. In swim we usually just take our shoes off but you don't want to do that in a public gym lol

I didn't even know gyms have tours. This is so going to save so much intimidation and nervousness off my initial plan. I'm healing my dominant foot from a 5th metatarsal fracture and really just want to use the pool until I can start strength training. I love swimming and when I heard water aerobics and swimming is great from my doctor, I went and signed myself up but haven't been back since. I'm an extrovert, but gyms idk I'm so intimidated by gyms. The intimidation & fear is irrational! I'm calling my gym tomorrow and scheduling a tour ASAP.

Hey, I’m looking to join the gym soon, but have a lot of anxiety and really nervous about going! It’s been 5 months since you’ve written this, and I want to ask you how it’s going!
@krnatiny88233 жыл бұрын
@@dcoop7516 hey there! Firstly I would like to say happy new year! Now, for these past five months I have had many ups and downs. My anxiety is still definitely there but I have consistently pushed through and can happily say that I go to the gym at least 4/5 days a week all by myself, and have managed to lose 15kg because of it!! :)) I want to say that it’s something you can easily overcome but if I’m honest, it will take some time. Taking the first step is what sucks the most, however, once ur past that you will learn that the people around you don’t really pay attention to what you’re doing. For all we know, they’re just like us, silently hoping and praying that they’re not watched by others or made fun of for doing something incorrectly. Some advice I would give you is maybe find someone who can help you adjust to the environment, like a friend or a family member, just so the process isn’t as nerve wracking as without someone beside you. Then, eventually, you probably won’t need them beside you anymore. I know we all deal with anxiety in our own ways so you should try several things before making any rash decisions. Just keep telling yourself that you’re doing this for you and for your mental health. And just know that although it feels like everyone is watching, they aren’t (I can’t stress this enough), everyone is in their own little world and you should have the same mindset! Make a nice playlist and watch your life unfold into something truly magnificent. I offer you many virtual hugs and the best of luck with your journey. You’ve got this! I believe in your ability to be a better version of yourself
