I started Muay Thai 6 months ago and this channel has helped me so much. I hope that you guys start making new videos again.

A good upgrade in difficulty is tepeing the bag beforehand and timing your strikes with the movement of the bag, striking while moving forward and back.
@Muaythaipros4 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Following the back as you teep is great for developing timing and distance on a moving target. Cheers for the comment!

I needed this since i just started out and couldn't figure out why distance sucked! I am being told to stay within a jab distance and it will still be possible to throw a kick like that, but every time it feels like i'm too close when feeling the distance with a jab!

Glad you found it useful! The more sparring you do, the better your distance and timing will get naturally. So keep working at it

Breathe out very hard through your mouth. The air will come out through the gaps of your teeth and force the sound out.

Another great video khup 🙏🏼. I like that you are showing the fact that stepping off on 45 will sometimes leave you way short if the opponent moves backwards. I like to tell people to hybrid that angle, so step forward but on a very slight angle (if any angle at all) depending on circumstance. Another great video idea for this concept to progress, you could show the beginners how to utilize “bag sway” pushing the bag letting it swing and following the bag as it sways out away from you. This might help in teaching the beginners the concept of “follow it” creating the forward step, slight angle perception. It could help them get used timing and stretching the kick out full length, catch their opponents even if they step back. I do see beginners making this mistake often that you said they miss their kick and it’s a KO for the air 😂 Thanks for sharing bro love your videos and your humble nature. Keep up the great work.

Cheers for the thoughtful comment. That bag sway idea is a good one, definitely a good way to help people learn to kick as the bag is moving away from them. Another thing I didn't mention is you can step forward as throw a switch kick and cover a lot more ground (I had an old trainer who would always emphasize this) but I guess it will have to be a future video.

@@Muaythaipros cool man! Enjoy the videos and appreciate seeing a guy spending time with legit Thais and really ensuring the artfulness isn’t lost... lots of people on the internet now days unfortunately.... it really muddies the waters on what thaiboxing should look like. Keep up the good work.

Would you say that the step can continue forward? it looks almost like you step in, then swing the kick, as your momentum helps you cover more distance. Really impressive. "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times. " - Bruce Lee

Yea, the momentum can definitely carry your farther with the kick. I was standing completely out of range from the heavy bag, so I needed to cover more ground in the kick and used that momentum to cover the extra distance. For general training, you should practice just out of range from the bag, and you can gradually increase the distance as you improve your kicks.
