Hi Brad - I’ve followed you for awhile now. As a Beginner, I find this particular lesson very very helpful. Your Conversational delivery of the Instructions is very Comforting - you paced yourself well and and I feel not being rushed through, at all. Very Clear, Concise, and Attention to Details are Excellent! Thank you, sincerely.

Good evening Bradford, thank you - I have only started learning to play guitar and am in my 60's. Your book Classical Guitar Volume 1 and the instructive video lessons are clear concise and so encouraging. Thank you - I have watched all the first lesson through and now back to practice. I was not 100% sure of what style I wanted to play but have fallen in love with listening and watching pieces by Alexandra Whittingham which led me to feel classical was what I really do want to learn to play in my heart and I will continue to work my way through Volume 1 with your help. I also have signed up for the newsletter and Facebook and Instragram. If only I had known about you years ago, I may have had the courage to pick up a guitar to learn earlier. Thank you.

Hello Bradford... This new free Vol. 1 pdf is wonderfully revised from the 2015 version and these integrated video lessons to Vol. 1 is an amazing start for us beginners. I am a 66 year old beginner and am very grateful for your skill in teaching. Though I am older to start this serious journey, you inspire to ALL ages and skill levels. Wishing you great success. Ro

Bradford, goes without saying, but gonna say it anyway; your online lessons are awesome. I have been playing for quite a while and I find these simple "basic" lessons a great way to do warm-ups for both hands prior to getting down to business. I will even pick a scale and use them for warm-ups. I love the way you present a session and explain the reasoning in the way to approach playing and of course learning.

I started learning this 45 years ago and stopped, until now. So, I'll be looking for a classical guitar pretty soon, to go with my acoustic metal string. When my fingers get sore, then I can practice classical. If a string breaks on one, I can play the other until the new strings arrive.

thank you for all. i started your course. i wanna ask how many times should i practice one page of your vol 1 book ?
@Thisisclassicalguitar5 ай бұрын
You should practice it until you feel confident. Small random mistakes are generally okay but if they occur in the same spot each time, continue working on it slowly. The more confident you are with each piece the less chance there will be of getting frustrated with a future piece.

@@Thisisclassicalguitar when i playing slowly tempo is being higher what should I do?
@Haalandshow3 жыл бұрын
in what bpm should we do these lessons, or should we just follow our counting like you are doing? (In your method book (part1) I also don't see any bpm references...) thanks for the great content I really appreciate it!!
@Thisisclassicalguitar3 жыл бұрын
Don't worry about speed at all right now. Just focus on a good sitting posture, guitar position, hand positions and legato. Lock down a foundation of good healthy technique and speed can come later. In other words, slow!

@@Thisisclassicalguitar Thanks for the quick answer! there is one another thing I am struggling with with this book and that is: when should I move on to another practice piece, because right now I am practicing "Rhythms for Etude No.1". I can do this piece, but I am not creating a constant sound volume with the quarter notes, sometimes it sounds louder or lower when I am playing. What should I do? mastering in keeping the same volume when playing those quarter notes or just move on to another piece and overtime this skill will develop by itself?
@suzanneotts90573 жыл бұрын
Am I just reading the notes wrong for Etude No. 2 Arpeggios? The music on my tablet shows it starting with a B quarter note, But the video lessons starts off with a G quarter note.
@Thisisclassicalguitar3 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzanne, Etude No.2 starts with a quarter G in the book and video. The first bar is G - B - E - B. Maybe review the notes on page 12, that might help. I know its tricky at first to recognize it all. Lots of review is needed all the time.
