Another top video Rich I've recently come back to match fishing after a very long break I've chosen to fish the open scene yes I get smashed up big time but I've got to know some good anglers and thier always willing to help me improve

As a pleasure angler on natural and commercial's, I've noticed a few things over the past few years. It depends on the venue as some fish easy, throw your line out and bag up and other venues.. you have to work out what bait, little and often or fill in! Are you fishing top 2 plus 2 or are you going out 12.5 metres? What fish are you targeting? etc On the deck or shallow? How many fish do you want or need to catch? In Winter I aim for 50 fish of any size. If big fish come along then it's a bonus. I see many anglers sitting there all day and do nothing, and catch nothing, don't feed and don't try to read their peg Throwing a 10mm pellet out and sitting in your chair and falling asleep gets you nowhere... Another great video and you highlight some important issues. Thanks

Great vid 👍 was at Partriges today caught about 40lb of roach on Holbar. Giving my mate stick all day because he was blanking then he pulled a 16lb carp out on the pole last cast 🤣

I club fished for a few years and then started a few open matches in 2019, it is very daunting but you can't beat it. I always go with the thought in my head that I am one of the crappest in the match and then I am never disappointed if I don't win owt 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Rich

I have been toying with fishing a few matches but don’t have and have never used a pole. Are there any match anglers who don’t fish a pole?
@davep62863 жыл бұрын
There are feeder only matches, Plus the next few weeks you will see more n more pellet waggler, winning or framing wins.👍
@SteeeveO3 жыл бұрын
Me too - started off in my youth with a fibreglass rod & Intrepid black prince, fished lots of matches & did well as a junior, then gave it up. Missed all the pole revolution, came back to angling a few years ago but just do the same as I always did but with better rods & reels. Pleasure only though. Took me years to have the courage to go fishing without maggots (pellets only). Wouldn't know where to start with a pole.......

Is a box necessary for match fishing ?
@WinningWays3 жыл бұрын
Pretty much yes, for pleasure fishing you can get away with just a chair but to be efficient for matches a box means you can have everything positioned correctly and makes fishing a pole a lot more comfy.

I was taught by ivan the great? Told me to use brain, not mouth. No good on the swing tip, Ivan Marks said sit on hands , let bite develope when bream fishing. Waited that long, hands went numb and ended up falling off box and pi....ing down leg.lol. Also when hemp fishing overheard his mate say the art to becoming expert was knowing when to put shot in pears, so went to supermarket and brought my first tin 🤔

@davep62863 жыл бұрын
If you catch fish on your local river, you should be fine on a commercial, don’t panic and like Jamie says, let anglers around you. Tell you we’re the fish are.👍
