I have a problem with sound. When I plug my guitar in it’s nice and loud as I’m recording like yours is. But when I play it back it’s a lot quieter. Adjusting the levels down below doesn’t help as it sends it into the yellow/red but without being loud..? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
@Issachernandez13 жыл бұрын
Mmhh, it depends on the interface that you're using. Your monitoring level might be high, which is why everything is nice and loud when you're recording. But the gain of your guitar might be low, you might need to turn this up on the interface, it could be your getting a low signal in but with high monitoring volume. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching 👍🏽

Yeah I can do that. But in short when you download a new plug in you can go into preferences, and scan the folder.

@HelderPraga3 жыл бұрын
when recording a solo guitar for instagram or youtube, should we avoid that yellow and red zones of master volume?
@Issachernandez13 жыл бұрын
As a general rule you should try to avoid that on the master track as well as individual tracks. Not just for insta and KZbin, any kind of recording. It creates distortion and can potentially ruin a track.

a question...i have seen some guitarists that use fret wraps...they say they use it to 'stop the strings from ringing'..i dont understand whay you woud want that?
@Issachernandez12 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily from ringing. It's to prevent unwanted string noise, particularly with high gain and when recording. You can slide it up and down the neck to prevent that or place it above the nut, which is like not having it there. Some people are really hardcore about not using it.

Thanks, I appreciate that. 🙏 Yeah the plug in is guitar rig from native instruments. It can be both standalone or used in reaper.

This is an old video, but I'm hoping you still ready comments :) Do you monitor your wet signal while recording? How do you do that without latency being noticeable? Thanks!
@Issachernandez1 Жыл бұрын
Yes I monitor while I record. It comes down to the driver your pick, sample rate, and buffer size. There are some variables that are dependent on the machine you're working with. @thereaperblog has a great walk through on how to set this up. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bquQYWqejNZ1o8U

nice vid bro..thumbs up for you..2 questions maybe u can help me with pls..what is the optimum level for recording guitar...is it -18db?...also when recording a heavy rock sound,is 2 recordings (of the same part) the industry standard?..keep up ur work!!!!!!
@Issachernandez14 жыл бұрын
Thank you bro! I appreciate you taking the time to watch. I find that it's best to stick anywhere between -18db and -14. This leaves plenty of headroom and the result will be a cleaner track. And yes it's a pretty common technique to double a guitar part and pan it to each side. It adds depth and body giving you a nice full sound.

Hermano, sorry to bother you again but can you direct me to a video tutorial somewhere that shows how to send a project of a song to someone else for them to record their instruments, so then they can send it back?
@Issachernandez13 жыл бұрын
No worries! I actually found two that might help you out kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3fYp3aLi7B6ia8 - How to share projects with bandmates or whoever kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJqme2h6ibqLf7c - Sending Files to a mixing engineer. The first works if who you're sending it to has reaper. Which if they don't I'd encourage them to just get the trial version, it's full and free. If that doesn't work the second video is specifically for sending to a mixing engineer but you can skip steps that don't pertain to that process. Hope this helps.

I have a question im new to all this and Im trying to understand if i was doing a song that the intro was a clean tone with some reverb then the verse had some fuzz and chorus has more heavy distrotion and you were doing this against a backing track that has the drums and bass how would be the best way to record it?
@Issachernandez13 жыл бұрын
I would put the guitars on two separate tracks. One for the clean tone and another for the heavier tone. It's pretty much what I do in the video. Just create as many tracks as you need for different parts and effects. Down the line there are more efficient ways of doing this, but nothing wrong with this approach. Simple and straightforward.
@Issachernandez13 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching BTW!
@Garrett-In-Canada3 жыл бұрын
@@Issachernandez1 so do the whole song as a clean and then the whole song as a distortion?
@Issachernandez13 жыл бұрын
@@Garrett-In-Canada not necessarily you mentioned the intro is clean, so you record that part only on one track. For the verse you make a new track with the fuzz/chorus, put your cursor where the verse starts and record that part. And so on you can record one section at the time with the effects you want. Hope this makes sense

@Issachernandez13 жыл бұрын
Sure, one way to do this is duplicate the track with your take on it. Use the slice tool to cut up the duplicate and just drag and drop onto the original track. If you have multiple takes you can duplicate several times and cut out the parts you need.
