Beginner Rollerblader Skated at Central Park New York City.

In this video, I'd vlog Catzz Blox (me) and Big Mama at central park. I always wanted to skate in NYC and my dream finally came true. This area was challenging based on my skill level as far as crowd control aspect. This is more of a warm up for me to skate later on in the series. This video was recorded on Mar. 24th, 2024 around 4:00pm. I'm rocking my beloved K2 VO2 S 90 BOA at NYC!

I love going down to the city to walk around... This year I'll be going down to the city to skate around! I plan on hitting up the Central Park loops, the Hudson Riverside Park, and Wednesday night group skate sessions.

The Central Park loops looked so crowded on Sunday when we were there. There were a lot of joggers and bikers. I didn’t see any inline skaters on that day. I’ve drove by the Hudson River, but didn’t know about the Riverside Park until you mentioned it. I would love to go back there again! One of the local skaters told me about Wednesday and Monday night skate group sessions. She mentioned on Monday sometimes they closed the area down like holland tunnel earlier for skaters. Man there were so many things to do there it was impossible to hit up all the spots in one day. Really appreciate the info!

You could skate the lower loop from 59th to 72nd. It's got some minor hills.

Thank you for the info. I didn’t know any skating routes there, but will keep this in mind. I saw a lot of the streets have biker lanes, but some of the streets looks pretty jacked up. A lot of them intersected with busy streets. I almost got hit by another vehicle driving on streets unpaved yesterday due to construction work! So scary and fun at the same time. I saw a field hockey rink yesterday while driving for Prince Street Pizza. Too long of a line in a lot of places, I had to go with plan B.

I used to skate Central Park all the time years ago. The bike lane on the west side by the Hudson River is another great spot to skate.

Appreciate this. I’ve been to NYC many times, but never been to Central Park until last week. That’s one of the biggest parks I’ve seen. Okay I will check out Hudson River. I will take a break for now. LOL It gets expensive driving there, parking, toll and gas money adds up. The time spent with my family there is well worth it though. Any good food places you recommend at NYC?

@@CatzzSkatesFamily If you go on the weekends, you can find spots where you can park for free (it will take some time to look for it though)

Good point. The second time I went back to NYC with my kids I've found free parking like 3 times in different locations in downtown NYC. Uptown NYC I couldn't find many free parking besides the parking meter.

What I’m doing is not good practice. LOL The only protection I wear are workout gloves. I also own wrist guards, but prefer workout gloves to grip the selfie stick. Do you skate too?
