Can't thank you enough for the very detailed videos on false lashes for beginners. I'm almost 40 and have always been so intimidated by them that I had never tried them. Your videos made the process seem so easy and doable. I ran across a really cheap pair of LA Colors "Foxy" (I liked their natural look) at Family Dollar and thought, why not finally give it a try. I was just so tired of my short stubby natural lashes that I had to do something. After following your instructions my first application experience last night was like a pro. They went on so quickly and easily. It may sound stupid to some, but I was so proud that I was able to do it so well the first time and they look so great. Great tutorial, Emily! I wanted to let you know that I had found your False Eyelashes 101 video a few years ago and have been applying and wearing false eyelashes confidently ever since then. (Well, after a few practice sessions!) I'd like to add to this tutorial some things that I have discovered that work for me in case they are helpful to your subscribers. I use the false lash applicator (the black tool you used to apply the lash to your right eye) to: 1. hold the lash while I'm gluing it 2. swing the lash through the air to dry the glue down a bit 3. put the lash onto my eyelid 4. use the tool's edges to grip and push down the lash band to make sure the whole band is touching my eyelid Using this tool this way helps me to keep my hands off my eyes. It also keeps my hands and fingers from blocking my eyes as you point out in your video! I'd like to suggest adding a link to your 101 video in the description box because you expand on the cleaning process in that one. I've used that process and have gotten SO many wears from just one set! I have tried several times and ended up very aggravated and gave up but I thought starting out with thicker bands would make it easier to work with so I will try again with the thinner ones and see how that goes. This video is perfect timing!!! I just bought my first ever pair of false lashes the other day at Ulta. Since I was unsure about how to use the lash glue along the with removal, I purchased a set of Ardell Magnetic Lashes. Needless to say, they've been rather challenging. I always had a hard time getting the full lash on. It's wasn't until I started chopping them up in 4-5 pieces that it was so much easier to me.

For corners that pop up I dab the end of a slant tip tweezer with a tiny bit of glue and slide that onto the popped up band, wipe off tweezer and grab the end with the tweezer and press til stuck. Also I don't usually wear eyeliner so to make the band look more invisible I take liquid eyeliner and smooth over the band to darken the band that shows between the lashes.

BEST beginners video I've seen yet. I'm in my late 50s..past few years I have noticed my lashes thinning. So I began this difficult journey of applying lashes. I would have many days when I would struggle & give up. As I am watching your tips I am seeing that your tips are same as the ones I learned the hard way. One difference is that I feel I am more steady when I use regylat tweezers held in the same spot as you hold with your fingers. Than to press together I use a different eyelash tweezer from Ulta. There is 1 other difference. I prefer to apply under the lashes that just works better for me. They blend in butter. Have you ever tried the under technique?

Like so many others on here, I've just started dabbling with false eyelashes (thought it was time at 64!!!) 😂 eyelashes get sparse at this age and so I thought I'd give it a go. I too, have watched other tutorials, but yours is by far the easiest instructions to follow. So I have seen where I've been going wrong for a start, and that is I've been placing my lashes on my own lashes, instead of doing eyeliner and placing them on that. I was wondering why I was almost poking my eye out when I was blinking!! 😆 thanks again Emily, you do the most pleasant videos, choose what it's about.
