Thank you so much for this really helpful tutorial Barbara ! Choosing digital pages is not very hard, but finding matching neutrals is... So I really appreciate this video. A month ago, I discovered it was way more easy to print all digital pages first frontside (or recto) and then put them back in the printer to get a nice matching backside (or verso, as I call it). I'm sitting on the edge of my chair to discover part 2. In the meantime, I want to thank you for sharing and exchanging with us, your experiences and talent which are truly very useful. I'm sure that making videos must take a lot of time and energy and therefore, I'm very grateful that crafters like you, Luise and many others want to share that with us. Oh Barbara, what perfect timing. I started junk journal making four years ago (that’s when I started watching you, Louisa and all the rest) but for the last two years I have been in a slump. Two weeks ago I started watching vid os again and lo and behold there you were working on your daily planner. When I saw the Muse papers I fell in love and my mind seemed to engage again.. I went to your Etsy store and found the kit but didn’t know what to pair them with so I was once again stuck. Then today happened and I am so thankful you have come up with a “kit” to help us all. Barbara: this year I’m going to create a more decorative everyday journal for myself. I can’t help think that watching you and others have influenced me. Nothing that anyone else has ever done, but just different for me. I had a journal tucked away for years with blank pages. I will be using magazine cut outs, color inks, and anything else I might enjoy and love. Again, nothing special, but just different for me. I have loved your tutorials on making your soft cover journals out of a paper bag. I’ve made two so far and want to start making another one for the beginning of new year. I’ve followed your example of cutting the digital papers and glueing them on to the signature pages but seeing this way of just folding them and using them for the signature pages is less work so I’ll be following this method for my next journal make. Thank you for your tutorials…..very inspirational!!

I am in a Chistmas journal right now, 4 signatures. I always do the pages/signatures first in my process! Right now I have a Christmas gift bag for my cover, so I am restricted to page size! Barbara. I thought of Klimt a moment before you mentioned your inspiration. I am stunned by the beauty you created, by the I’m sorry, I don’t know how to say this, the very high level of beauty. I think in tv and movies it would be called production values. Permisso from the gods of art to say I think Klimt would have said, Come aboard, Barbara. Rolling lushness, royal fall colors, I don’t have the words right now. Also, specifically, the black outlines, the black hair provide so much definition and perhaps elevation. I can hardly believe a mere mortal created these images, but that would be you! Gonna get me some, even though I’m not used to working with human images. These would be a joy to look at any/every/all the time.

Barbara, back here commenting after a long time. I always was in awe of your talent, creativity and amazing journals but I felt they were complex processes for my time constraints. But of all the videos on YT, I always remembered one of your videos where you showed basics of choosing papers etc and I needed another like this video to get me started! I have many ideas like botanical theme, bird theme journals and even have plenty of papers etc but somehow couldn’t get started. So I kept making lots of embellishments of all sorts as a collection for a “some day” journal. Now I think I’m going to jump in and make one, even though I’ve made 2-3 other intermediate complexity journals lol. Your images are gorgeous!! Sorry for the long comment but love all you do ❤

Yay 🙌I'm about to put my Granddaughter's together so the refresher is super helpful! I made LOADS of AI images for her (she's 5 and into unicorns and rainbows😄). I love Klimt and your kit😍. Wrt to duplex printing: For those with printers with duplex printing feature, it’s easy/fast to print both sides at a time imo. I use MS word or equivalent, I open the front image (girl for example) and back page image (bubble design) and select double sided printing. It’ll go pretty fast. This way feeding the paper layer to print in the reverse side and not over print on the same side etc issues can be avoided. But if printers don’t have duplex feature, then one at a time. One rule of thumb is that if your paper is feeding from back tray, they come out straight as is. If paper is fed from the front trays, it’ll roll inside and prints in the back. Hope that helps someone 😊
