What most people don't know is the ground balance mineralization chart comes handy in most areas.when you look at the bar in bottom left side of mineralation bar on the screen.if you for example 50 percent of the bar covered and your getting chatter.then go to the ground balance mineralization chart and see which setting it says to a just your ground balance value number to like it might say on the mineralization chart 50 to 60 just for example.

Thank you for the information. This detector is excellent value for money , it’s offers advanced settings of which are often found on higher priced detectors. It also looks to be usser friendly. I currently have Nox 800 , my next detector is going to be a PI detector although.

Gigmaster, Thank you for taking the time to redo the stability issue by ground balancing the Nokta Makro Simplex+. Now I noticed that you turned the Sensitivity or Gain all of the way up before you Ground Balanced the Machine. This would cause any high gain detector to exhibit instability especially in high alkaline or highly mineralized ground conditions. No manufacturer directs or suggests operators turning the gain all of the way up before or when ground balancing. Ground Balancing should be performed at the preset gain or sensitivity level, then the gain should be adjusted as high as you can go without experiencing excessive instability or chatter. To be fair I would like to see the gain on the Nox turned all of the way up at the beach and ground balanced and run that way. Give it a try. Thanks
@beachdetectingireland39845 жыл бұрын
I've ran my nox wide open , full gain on the beach with no problems . Notice the simplex going off when coil hits the sand , same is going to happen when coil is hit by waves . Compared to the nox this machine is very unstable ,, for me the simplex is still chattering and after a few hrs of chirping it would simply drive me nuts . For beach hunting you need either pulse induction or multi frequency , for now there's no other way around it .
@bodyguardwr5 жыл бұрын

Thanks for doing this. My guess though is that you are losing a very large amount of depth when you set the ground balance that low. The reality is that single frequency machines just don't work very well in salty conditions. No detector manufacturer (including Nokta) has been able to solve this problem in the past so I doubt that Nokta has been able to solve it now in such a cheap machine. For someone who rarely goes to the beach (vacation, etc) then your manual ground balance trick might be "good enough", but veteran beach hunters like yourself are going to end up sticking with the multi frequency machines.

First of all, thank you for this presentation. Secondly, I'm only heading to the shores of Lake Erie with my Simplex+, so no salt water, but maybe some black sand? Lastly, I noticed the manufacturer onscreen memo pop-up as you began balancing. It says, 2-4 pumps, but you did 26 pumps. It's my understanding you did so many excessive pumps to bring the numbers down to a low enough factor to overcome all the saltwater sand chatter. So, if I take my unit out to, say....the freshwater beach here in Ohio or a rural farm, would I just pump it up and down until I get the first beep from the unit?
@robertwolfe29713 жыл бұрын
Suppose to raise the coil about 8 inches high until it beeps.
@PureBlood423 жыл бұрын
@@robertwolfe2971 - So no up and pumping at all?
@robertwolfe29713 жыл бұрын
I don't think he was raising the coil high enough but it did work eventually.remember only in wet sand.up north at the great lakes if you get chatter in the other mode when detecting.look at the ground mineralization bar 0-99 left bottom corner on land if your getting chatteryou might have to push the settings button go to ground balance mode the second emblem on the left hand half side the coil with the two arrows .You will be in ground balance go to the ground balance value number and if the bar says 50 percent or 70 then that what you would change the value numbers to if it says 71 or 72 then that's what you change it to.it might say 73 .thats what the bar and mineralization charts for sometimes the automatic ground balance doesnt set it to the right ground balance level.most of the time it does only do this if your detector won't ground balance push the middle top button the one with the arrow going in a circle it will return you to the mode you was in and the automatic ground balance will be more accurate in a heavily mineralized area like the great lakes area when ground balancing only if the detector won't ground balance properly in modes other than all metal.last two pages of instructions manual.
@robertwolfe29713 жыл бұрын
First try a frequency shift if the detector keeps chattering you might .If your ground balance value number are saying 60 and your getting chatter and you look down at the mineralization bar and it look more than 60 more like 71 then change the ground balance value number to 71.the chart show you the recommended numbers in different areas.i know the great lakes area has a lot of Harvey iron mineralization.some detectors have to be manually ground balanced even though the have automatic ground balance

Gold in the sand I use my simplex in the iron it does really well for the price point. Everyone is expecting it to act like a thousand dollar machine. I also own an Ace 300 that was the exact same price and simplex obviously blows it away. Perspective is key. If you have the nox 6-800 then there’s no reason to change.
