This is SO helpful! Thank you. I was having a hard time with my ears and I realize now they didn't have enough depth to them... much too flat. I really like your tutorial style. Subscribed!

Thank you! It’s really hard to copy your own ear or copy from a picture. Your ear is beautiful. Your instruction is articulate and calm. I am excited to start my dollies ears!

thank you for this video! lol. I touched my ear like 100 time while watching it. I do polymer clay but if learned it all works the same...almost lol. just got into realism a few weeks ago where as before I was just doing jewlery and small things like fish and mini trees.

I can't believe that I have a lump of clay that now looks like a pretty good ear instead of 1/2 a butterfly. well done boss. I will be coming back to practice. thanks

Thank you Mr. Kidwell, Your video and instruction are very precise. My one issue, I can draw the anatomy very well, but I am sculpting too small. I assume it is because I am very new to the material. It would be easier to create a larger ear, than a 1/8" one! THANKS so much.

The face I created today from play doh --- from watching your video is So incredible , I would not believe it , if I has not enjoyed myself so much doing it . What and where do I get the clay you were using . OMG Thank you !!
@BeginnersSchool6 жыл бұрын
Great that you used play-doh instead of letting a lack of "proper" materials stop your creativity! Good for you! We use oil-based clay such as Chavant (www.chavant.com/) or Roma Plastilina (www.sculpturehouse.com/s-112-roma-plastilina.aspx). You can read more about clay types and the materials we suggest on our website: www.beginnersschool.com/2015/05/04/sculpture-essentials/ Keep up the good work!

Is paint thinner good for refining? I have been using rubbing alcohol. Not satisfied with it. Also I am using non sulfer clay that doesnt harden that I will later use for a mold. Will there be any problems when molding if I use the paint thinner?
@BeginnersSchool6 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Yes, you can use paint thinner to refine your sculpture when you're finished with it and it will not affect your mold. We have a video on mold making, too. Check it out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/iobGdYR5apiKj5Y Good luck with your sculpting!
