How do I pave different types of diamonds. Guess there is no options for that. Are there workarounds?
@donsjewelrymakingandjapantrave2 ай бұрын
Great video idea. I will try to work on that in the future. But to try to help you out until I can get that up on the channel, after you place the gems using pave gems. Ungroup them. Chick on the gem you want to change. Make sure it is highlighted. Then click on Gem Override in the gem's menu. You will see gem pop up in the dynamic commands area. Chick on shape and you can change to whatever shape you want and even adjust the size of the gem. Hope that helps. If you run into other issues, please let me know. I'll try to help and also, I can add any issue you have to the content when I can post it to help others.

I am getting black screen every time when using matrixgold in mac os parallels, need help plzz
@donsjewelrymakingandjapantrave2 ай бұрын
Humm! Not much of a Mac user myself. The first thing I would probable do is contact Gemvision user support. They will defiantly be able to help for sure. You could always try uninstalling and reinstalling the program as well. But I would first reach out to tech support. They will get on your computer and in a live connect with you to fix it. Probably not really what you wanted to hear but really is the best way to resolve the issue and keep it from happening again in the future.

Hi, I've just discovered your excellent channel! So many very useful tutorials I use Matrix 9 and not looking forward to one day having to learn Matrix Gold - especially as they've removed the V-Ray rendering! Do you have a tutorial about how to place the Rhino command bar into the workspace? Thanks so much :)
@donsjewelrymakingandjapantrave9 ай бұрын
Welcome aboard! I am loading one up now, but I think there are some others. You really shouldn't let the v-Ray thing stop you. Cycles has a little learning curve but after you get the hang of it, I truly believe you will really like it. Thanks so much for the comment and all your support.

@@donsjewelrymakingandjapantrave It's just so weird how they removed it in favour of something inferior, and how do you learn it? I have so many little setting tweaks and preferred angles, lighting etc on Matrix 9. I hope to replicate one of your tutorials in my lunchbreak every day!

I feel you! I felt the same way when I first purchased MG and actually for a few months afterwards. lol so frustrated trying to get my renders to look anywhere close to what I was getting in M9. But honestly cycles is a much more powerful program. Have you ever studied Blender? Have you seen what they can do with that? Absolutely amazing stuff. Cycles is the same rendering engine. It is not just a mapping of the image over something. Cycles has more depth and versatility. With more options and more it can do comes a more complicated learning process though of course. There are really good videos on Rhino’s website and Gemvision’s academy have some very good video on rendering in MG. You get a 6 month subscription to the academy when you purchase MG so you can really get up to speed on the new rendering engine with those videos. He also goes into external assets that you can load in. Very helpful. Then like when you first started MatrixGold it’s just grinding it out. I know in the short term it is frustrating but in the long run I believe you will not want to go back. MG does have some V-Ray type things. The lighting isn’t really that different. Good luck to you on which ever way you go. Not trying to sell you MG just really trying to explain my own experiences with the transition. Best wishes!

@@donsjewelrymakingandjapantrave Interesting thanks for that :) I just use it at work ans rely on renders for sales - if anything happens to Matrix 9 and I'm suddenly thrown into the deep end with Matrix Gold, I'll be out of a job! Thanks, I'll have a look at some tutorials......I just don't know why they 'fixed something that wasn't broken!'

How to switch 0.5 to gridsnaps
@donsjewelrymakingandjapantrave2 ай бұрын
At the bottom you should see several boxes starting from the left the MatrixGold version you have. Then a few others like maybe Clayoo and Untitled, timer and then Auto hide. Next to Auto Hide at the bottom you should see Grid Snaps. Make sure that box it checked. That will give you options to choose 0.01, 0.25, 0.5 1.0 choose the grid snap you are wanting, and you should be good to go. Remember to turn them off when you no longer need them to get a smooth flow. Let me know if that helps. Good luck.
