I tried your light testing with different pieces of paper but I only get a shadow when I place my hand between light source and paper.????

Hi, it depends on the level of shadow you got: sharp shadow means bright light, softer shadow means medium light and and unclear outline of shadow means low light. Hope this clarifies!
