Still watching beginner video because you can always learn something. The best thing, I think, about wet on wet is that you just don't know how it will be 💚💙

I’ve never been so excited to learn! I burned out of teaching after 19 yrs, followed by an even harder burning out of life. All of it. There is one silver lining, however. I’ve always had an itch to paint beyond teaching, Momming, crafts at home & wine/paint classes I attended only as my teacher salary could afford. And I’ve definitely found my heart’s desire. I cannot wait to learn all the things including be free, just paint. :) You teach the way I learn, so I’m at the beginning, SO in awe of how much learning comes prior to color touching paper! I’ve found my outlet, my passion, the only easy way to communicate on this planet. Thank you for sharing your many talents. I am SO excited to learn and become and create a more joyful ‘rest of my life.’ 😊

I love that you are doing this series. I've only been using watercolor for a couple of years. This is a great review for me. Also, some of the neighborhood ladies have talked me into doing a little watercolor workshop in a couple of weeks. These are great reminders of the basics. Thanks!

I'll take your advice and start with filling the paper with water and dropping color letting it dry and write bible verses on them. This will be fun for some bible art journaling. ❤

This is sooooo helpful! I am new to watercolor. Like, literally the last time I used watercolor paints it was with a set from the dime store when I was 7 or 8, and I had zero instruction (because 2nd grade, haha). I've been wanting to try watercolor again, but I really needed this super beginner kind of tutorial - just the very basic techniques. Thank you!!

This was super helpful my issue is with how much water I have in my brush and do I use thick pigmented paint for the wet on dry? I also would love to learn how to do shadows. Thank you for taking the time to do this and explain so simply for us simple people 😂.

Your tutorials are very useful, thank you!!! I started using watercolor only for 8-9 months. I can't get that "leaf" effect with my Winsor & Newton watercolors on Canson Watercolor paper or Arches. I don't know the reason, but I assume it's the paper, probably has to be less absorbent or something, the color doesn't flow like that.

Hi Emma, I'm new to your site. Someone just gave me watercolor supplies. I'm a novice acrylic painter on canvas. Can you paint watercolor on a gesso primed canvas? If you want to frame a watercolor painting on paper, do you have to seal it and put a backing on it? If so, can you explain how to do that? Thank-you so much. I really enjoy your videos! Carol

So my colors did not bleed. Did I not use enough water? I wanted to get those "blossoms" of color and couldn't accomplish that technique.
