What a wood working journey. Some might say it was a "whimsical" wood working Journey 😏 I don't see the problem with using your tools. You do explain things really well for those who might not have the same tools. Ignore the negative comments. As far as the confusion the time change always has that affect on me. The sleep habits are thrown off which impacts everything. Mistakes happen. If I had a dollar for every mistake I've made I could retire. I think the cedar planter came out great. I agree the miter saw is a better way to start rather than a table saw. I rarely use my job site table saw whereas I use the miter saw on almost everything I make. I agree with the tape measure recommendation but I would add that it's good to have more than one; the car, house, every tool bag, etc. I bought a battery powered brad nailer early in the summer at Harbor Freight to give it a go. That was a game changing purchase. Good recommendations all the way around. Thanks for everything you do on this channel.

Great video, I love both projects but the planter box has so many options on how to use it. I also agree with you on the cordless brad nailer. I bought the little compressor and nailer package and it was a real pain in the butt to have to drag out everything when I wanted to use it. Now that I’ve gone battery powered I have a lot less hesitation to get in my shed. I would suggest that you look at a manufacturer’s line of tools and batteries and decide on one source. Most have a seasonal sale with a starting package and either discounted or free tools. I have a TINY SHOP and I don’t have enough room for multiple chargers and batteries that only work with one tool. Thanks for sharing, congrats on reaching your subscription goal and now we can move on to the next goal… I beta KZbin plaque would look good on the wall behind you!

Hi Tim, I agree that the accurate measuring devices such as tape measure and combination square are absolutely essential. I have found to my cost that cheapo tape measures are not worth the money . Every beginner should buy good quality measuring devices first. I also agree that a very good brand of mitre saw is a must but the size of the saw is dependent on the size of the workshop. My workshop is 16 feet x 7 feet (pretty small!) so can't accommodate a 12" sliding compound mitre saw (note the spelling as I am a Brit!). My mitre saw is a Makita 8". I have a DeWalt 7492 contractor saw, which is my favourite tool and it is something I wish I had bought at the beginning of my woodworking journey in 2009 but I only got it last year - what a difference it has made to my woodworking journey. Oh, yeah, the cordless brad nailer is also a must, not a luxury. I have a Ryobi brand, which has been good. By the way, keep up with these videos!
