Im an advanced crocheter but I went ahead and subscribed because the stitching is perfection, the music is calm and not obnoxious and the patterns are quite lovely. Just wish they would call it crochet. Crochet and knitting are 2 different skills. Not a combined term.

I agree, this is a lovely pattern, I made a lovely garment for my mother using this same pattern in the 60's, but the pattern stitch book I had was ever so much more awkwardly explained. Crochetworkshop make it hugely easier. Thank you so much. I think the reason for calling crochet knitting is in the translation from another language. To me it sounds like the techniques are treated much the same in other countries, a fabric that is crafted by hand and it is prevalent in the non-English speaking world. I find it quite acceptable and rather quaint. After all we do know what they are doing and they all do it so well, all being very clever and talented at it and willing to share their expertise. 🙏😂❤❤❤💐

@@gretatillett1100 I find it proper to understand! This pattern/design appeared more like knitting!
@tammiep9628 Жыл бұрын
@@JV-ng8dy actually, this is a crochet stitch. It’s also called the star stitch. It does not feel like knitting to me at all, and it isn’t. I have a pattern only it’s done in half double crochets, but the yarn is chunky. I believe she puts knitting on here because other countries do call it knitting.

I agree it’s weird to call it knitting. Very different skills. I’m an intermediate knitter, but a beginner crocheter.

I started crochet on April 3rd 2017. I watched a vid on KZbin on repeat for 3 hrs. Took a 2 hr nap and haven't looked back since. I'm kind of like the anomaly in my entourage. If I'm chilling, I have my yarn and hook in my "yarn shopping bag" Long story short: This pattern is absolutely 💯 GORGEOUS!!! I'm trying to blankies for two 3 year old twin girls. Their father was a little brother. His going thru it. I just want to thank you for taking the time and teaching us the way our ancestors did this. ❤❤❤

Your method, for what I identify as the star stitch, works up nice and neat. I have seizures. Then my hands basically go on autopilot and continue to do what I’m doing. I’ll find out if my hands will be doing the stitch the way you’re teaching us or the way I originally learned! Thankfully the seizures don’t come on a regular basis. We’ll see what happens. A new way to do a stitch is always fun to learn. Thanks for posting your tutorial. 🙏

@SantaceBagheera8 ай бұрын
Note that gor the FIRST stitch she takes 6 foundation chains. But as she continues,she takes 3 loops from the LAST stitch she were working on ( counting the loop we already have on thw hook, that makes 4 loops on the hook already) + 2 loops taken from foundational chains (that makes 6 loops on the hook). Basically you need to count any amoumt of foundational chains you want, just make sure youll always have 2 foundational chains to make a total of 6 loops on the hook. Basically you go 4 loops +2, 4 loops+2, 4 loops+2. You need 6 loops on the hook for this stitch to be completed. Hope I've explained myself.
