Thanks for this great tutorial, Mikey. Brilliant to see how you finished off the brown and weaved it in before changing to the light colour. I usually have to 'sew in' all my ends. Will definitely give this a go on my next granny. Also my stripey blanket to see if I can weave the ends of rows in the same way before bringing in a new colour or simply starting a new ball of yarn in the same colour,. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! This has got to be one of the best I've seen for seamlessly and relatively painlessly hiding the tails when you change colors in a granny square.

Thank you for posting this instruction. I've been avoiding a granny square for months even though I bought the yarn for it because of the color changing hassle. This method seems to simplify that process, and hope it won't be as intimidating once I get started.

Thank you so much. I am still a beginner, but I know all the stitches and even started/finished minor projects like scarfs and blankets. I have had the most HELL changing colors in any pattern. I was introduced to granny squares a month ago... your tutorial helped with my other projects and my latest... giant granny square blanket... It's for my bed.... I need it huge since its a king size.

I've never known to hide the loose yarn ends this way. It seems so much better to get it out of the way in this method, rather than having to weave all the ends in at the end of the project. I will watch this again a couple more times (lol!) to be sure I understand, and I'm going to do it this way from now on. Thanks so much for sharing this! I need to make a granny square throw for a baby boy, and now I'm actually looking forward to it! :)

Such a neat way to change colours. I am changing colours 5 times in my granny square and your instructions are very useful - far neater than the way I have been doing it. Thank you - just off to try it.

I just finished a granny square afghan but I wish I found this video first. It came out pretty but I cut the ends way too short and I'm afraid it will unravel someday. Thanks for a great technique.

Other than a slightly bulky dc, why wouldn't you just carry that straggler up into the "rafters"? I.e.: After carrying under those 1st dc's, just wrap it w/ the yarn overs and pull throughs and onwards w/ the the chains, at least for another inch. It sure makes it really secure and isn't in view .. I've tried it with RHSS and it doesn't seem too unsightly. Any thoughts?

Doing this weaving technique will the blanket hold together when you wash it?
@MeritxellFarre
@MeritxellFarre 6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, the way it's done it's almost impossible to unravel plus the stitches hold the thread in place quite firnly.

Fellow male crocheter and knitter here 😊 my technique is different, but aren't all ours lol love the videos. Just a little constructive criticism and I please hope you don't take offence 😢 but you seem to be going alittle too tight with your tension. This is the reason your square is starting to warp. Other than that it's perfect 👌🏼🧶🪡
