There are speakers and headsets and monitors that light up when sound is detected. Perhaps you could use something like that to give yourself visual cues. Or crank up the bass and use vibration. I am not deaf but I realize there are lots of “forms” of deafness. Maybe you’ve already thought of these things but if not, hopefully this helps.

As a EFT player with a few years under my belt i can honestly say a video like this would have helped me so dam much at the start. Jump in and do some scav runs. Get some loot and get out. Build the xp up. Offline is great for learning the mechanics, extraction points and weapons.

Bruh I started knowing pretty much nothing. It was hands down the most frustrating experience I've had with a video game. Not knowing what to do, no gear, no maps, no directions. It's tough. But once you finally understand extracts and other things, you really start to appreciate the time and effort devs put into the game

I've been following Tarkov for about a year or so now, and have been extremely excited to play. This is exactly the kind of game I want to invest focused hours into. Been on console my whole gaming career, and finally building my first gaming pc in the coming months so I can eventually step into the streaming realm. One thing he may cover in later videos that I think would help very new players is finding the "hidden stash's" on the Customs map. Use the wiki map and find as many as you can during a day run so if you notice you are close to one then hit it, they look like either buried barrels or sometimes a wood hatch. They tend to have a little more high value loot which helps a lot in the early game. I always try and hit a couple on scav runs. Oh and get used to dying, it happens a LOT early and later on. You will hit a point though where it all clicks and you start surviving and making good cash.

Is hotkeying broken right now or locked at low lvl? Or can you only do it in-game? I cant get my healing items bound to hotkeys (from character screen). If i mouse over and press a number nothing happens. If i drag it to the box it doesn't stick.

I would say, from someone who isnt great at the game by any means, but something I have had to learn on my own, is this game is more so about patience over playing super aggressive. Theres alot of moments where it's best to slow play it, and think about what you're doing, versus just running in to a place thinking you'll destroy somebody when in reality they will probably be holding that angle and ready for you to charge in. In other words, slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

ok this is all good stuff, not got the game yet but thinking about it. I am just confused on when you entered the 2nd raid in offline mode with your pistol, Did you enable Pve? Also anything you find in offline mode do you get to keep it and use it in a proper match ?

jon davies no you can’t keep the stuff you find in offline. You also don’t get exp or anything. It is practice only as if you could get items from offline, it would be easy to grind.

im pretty sure the "cheese" heals a randomly damaged body part when activated. I tend to just drag and drop it on the body part i want healed to avoid wasting it on body parts that arent that damaged. It happened to me a lot before realising I could drag and drop.

Bought the game last week. I'm 0 and 27 with my PMC. Have yet to break level 5. Scavs? I win often. More than I lose by a good margin. PMC? Nope. Not yet. You know how hard the first 2 tasks are when you only die on your main? You know how little xp you get? I do.

I just started and find playing factory works well for me. It's small and it's the 1 map I actually know how where the main exit is. When I'm good to go I can just book for the exit

bignick2139 As a new player I heard Factory is one of the worst maps to start out. According to most veterans, its because its PVP based. When I started I picked one to two maps. (Interchange & Customs). Learned the Extracts in offline. Then I learned where the loot is. Lastly when I played online for the first time, I played really slow and learned where hotspots were.

I’m having a hard time figuring out what’s a scavenger and what’s a pmc on a scavenger run. I walked into a place as a scavenger and started looting and a bunch of scavengers started throwing grenades at me and shooting. So confused.... I thought they were only hostile if you shot at them.

After a while you can just tell from their clothing but scavs are also player controlled,scav players always kill me so they can get my loot and it might have been pmcs

When running as a scavenger, best way to tell is if you kill them and they have the pouch icon in their loot inventory. Other than that, I have no idea as well. I try not to shoot on sight if I think they are scavs. Dont believe scavs run either but that's just from my experience, very well could I just havent noticed it yet

My head blacked out and I was still alive, I think it was a bug. I had 5 parts blacked out, and I used a CMS on everything but it wouldn't let me do my head. I fully healed everything and then it still took 2 shots to kill me later.
