i remember when i was a kid & i was always running around barefoot & i was able to run on gravel & everything without problem. i have lost that now & just a small stone hurt my sensitive feet. went on my first barefoot walk today & it was really fun! excited to keep doing this, at least until the winter cause it get really cold & snowy here in the north of sweden.

Barefoot maybe isn’t a good option for you now, but you may already know that there are shoes that will give you the nearest shod experience possible to actually being barefoot. I started wearing them and I will never go back. :-) I walk a lot, and usually would have sore feet after an entire day walking. With the “barefoot shoes,“ I never have sore feet even after being on my feet for eight hours a day at work.

When I was 8 years old, my family and I went to a temple that was on top of 10,000 stairs. I didn't realize it was such a long walk up and left my shoes in the car (since you're not allowed to wear shoes in a temple). My parents were yelling at me the whole time but I wasn't even tired after climbing all of the steps. I don't know why going barefoot didn't become a regular thing for me after that experience.

“Born to Run” is such a great book. As I started wearing “barefoot shoes” (going barefoot not being an option at work or in the winter in Seattle) I was talking with my housemate about it, and learned that he was a neighbor to Barefoot Ted for several years. :-) Yes, shod runners do sort of stand out, But I also find that I immediately recognize runners who are wearing minimalist shoes and running more naturally. “Dancing” down the path, as you say. I spent half the year barefoot when I was a kid (going back to school and having to wear shoes in the fall was pure torture every year), and I’ve been wanting to do it more, beyond just the confines of my yard. I like the idea of having summer minimalist sandals that I can pop into a bag so that I can get into the grocery store.

Thank you for this amazing video. I have a question. I spent most of the summer and autumn barefoot but now is winter and cold. I wanna try but first I need to know if is good for my body when there is humidity, snow or water at the ground. I am 28 years old now but I don't want when I will get older my body and bones to start having problems because of being barefoot. That's what I need to know before try during the winter also. Because the summer is easy.

Everyone is different, I can't say what will work for you, but listening to the body, really checking in when it is cold, is helpful. If it is too cold you can wear something minimal, some people do wool socks, or minimal boots/shoes to keep warmth while still allowing the foot to feel free. I have some good resources at www.thebarefoothuman.com

I just wish I could actually live barefoot and never get forced to wear shoes every day. I wish shoes never existed. They’re such a bad invention, so bad that I keep saying, just go barefoot. It’s so much easier to leave the house without shoes. If you can tell me how to get rid of this stupid shoe lifestyle all together, I’ll do it right now. I wanna get rid of my shoes entirely.

Are you ever afraid to do it? I’m afraid of stepping in something or cutting my feet, they’re so sensitive! Even pine needles have hurt or small rocks. Also bugs kinda freak me out... or things that would get into my skin like microscopic bugs or idk??!!! I want to go barefoot more, but I’m a bit scared haha
@YOUENJOYLIFE3 жыл бұрын
No, at first it was an adjustment but you learn so much about your body, about awareness, it really changes how your whole body works. There are millions of germs, viruses, etc that we can't see that are all over the place. you have to trust yourself though and learn what works.

I really want to start living a barefoot lifestyle however, I'm allergic to (most types) of grass. My skin gets super itchy and irritated and eventually will turn into hives if I don't get the area washed in a timely manner. Barefoot shoes sounds interesting to me (for this reason) but I'm still hesitant. Any advice for those that are are allergic to grass? Thank you so much for your kindness and wisdom!

I’m like this but not a hippie. Just a man. Might smoke a j while I’m up the mountain. Did go for a hike up a mountain yesterday and people said the same thing. How could you be bearfoot! I’m like, why waste your money on all that gear?

Hey there love the video's I've been going barefoot for about two weeks and am really enjoying it. I've been trying to stick to the grass and dirt trails cause the pavement is pretty gnarly, just wondering how long it took for your feet to fully adapt?

Can you relay the thin sandle that you use? When I'm out I wear a flip flop but the synthetic footbed drys out and cracks my heels. Comfort is key. Would love some advice.
