Every single video you make has such good info. Even though I grew up fishing offshore and spent thousands of hours offshore on south floridas east coast, I still learn something from most of your videos. I’m actually about to be a captain to follow my dream I’ve had for 37 years of being an offshore guide. Most of my experience in offshore fishing is bottom fishing and I’m still learning how to dial in on trolling like I am on the bottom. I really appreciate all your free knowledge. Thanks again cap Heath.

Even though I'm fishing in the Gulf of California, everything you said today was applicable. Thanks from a newbie for the valuable knowledge. I've watched many, many of your seminars and have learned tons from you. I'm ready to watch many, many more.

Hi Heath, That was a very informative video. When I watch your videos, I realize how much I miss having a boat. I hope all is well with you and the "Crew." Take care and have fun, Mickey

Hi Mickey... I miss my boat too... Haven't got to use it much lately because of this weather pattern due to El niño. Hopefully soon. Everyone is doing good down here, hope the same up in Palm Bay. Stay warm. Talk to you soon.

Great video! For years and years I fished for flounder in NJ. Twenty years ago I moved to Murrells Inlet SC. I just went out with a good friend on his 31 ft Cobia. I’d never used a planner before. We had two out rigger lines that did pretty much nothing but the two planners worked great. Definitely ups the game. Got a nice Mahi , tuna and a barracuda. I love to eat fresh caught flounder but this was WAY more fun. Lots of helpful info young man👍🏼👍🏼 I’m hooked ( pun intended )

Very informative! I’d like to get out on the water with you to really hook up on the bite. I’m in the treasure coast (port st lucie) , is there a way we can book a charter with you?

Should you use metal leader for trolling?
@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing4 ай бұрын
I only use wire leader when targeting toothy fish over the reef

How much line is out when trolling?
@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing10 ай бұрын
2 lines out. A long one and a short one. Long line is out about 150 to 175 feet.... Short line is out about 100 feet (which is usually right at the tail end of the boat's prop wash)

Hi Heath, question, do you use a head weight for the squid skirt? it looks very light with the 2 hooks only to be trolled at 7 -8 knot. thank you very much
@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing9 ай бұрын
I use a 1/4 ounce weight in the head. Lure trolls just under the surface, doesn't skip out of the water
