I know you have not made a video in quite a while but I am thinking of adding postcards to my store and was wondering how you list postcards ? Do you use a scanner if so how and what kind do you have and maybe could you do a video ? Hope all is well and thanks for all the info. I have watched both of these videos and learned a lot.

I have an Epson Es-580w scanner. But if you’re just starting out I wouldn’t recommend buying the top of the line scanner until you know you’re going to stick with it. We started just taking pictures then I bought a used canon table top scanner. But when I knew this was going to be a permanent item on our store I spent the money on the good scanner. Hope this helps

If you have been selling postcards for a while, you have likely learned the concept of "not prejudging your cards" the hard way.

So, I came into some postcards, and I’ve never sold postcards. I watched video #1 yesterday, and decided to jump right in. This a.m. I listed 5. Three of them sold within the hour. Kinda guessing that I undersold. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ One was Main Street in Little Rock, AR; one was Main Street in Paint Rock, TX, and one was the courthouse in Paint Rock, TX. All were real photos. How the heck am I supposed to know what Paint Rock anything is worth if there’s not another one?? Seems like there is such a range of solds, just say on different Main Street. Help!! 😊😊😊 I sold them for $10.00, $11.88, and $13.88. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

It’s difficult to comp them. I try and find like cards and make a decision from there. But it’s almost impossible. I think you did ok on those

Hi there, thanks for the good info. Two follow-up questions if you will answer; 1) Do you ever sell postcards using eBay promotions and 2) Do you use a duplex scanner to scan the front and back in one pass and then use the resulting images as your two listing's images? Thanks!
@PittsburghPicker Жыл бұрын
Yes to both questions 😉 the model of my scanner is canon imageformula R40. People also like the newer Fujitsu scanners. I got mine cheap so I just rolled with it. As far as promoting we typically promote them around 5% so as too not cost us too much. I will say you have to get around 4-5 thousand cards listed and you’ll see multiple a day every day. Not to say you will not with lower it will just be sporadic

God as my witness if another one didn’t just sell right after I typed my first message…Main Street in Magnolia, AR…$19.88. That’s 4 out of 5 in one morning! How much money have I lost?? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Why are rigid mailer so dang expensive? It drives me crazy. 100 of these cost almost the same as I pay for the 12x9 or even the 11x14! 😠 Annoying.
@PittsburghPicker5 ай бұрын
Yeah tell me about it. Basically there is one maybe two companies that make these mailers and they charge whatever they want. It’s really annoying

Thank you for your content and sharing. We have inherited a bunch of old postcards that appear to be from the '30s and '40s, mostly not used. Would a linen postcard of Mount Rushmore before the 4th president was added (which is Roosevelt) be valuable?
@PittsburghPicker Жыл бұрын
I’d run comps and sort it as buy it now only and that will give you a good idea of it’s worth. But if I had to take a guess I’d say around $6-7. But that’s just a guess.
@rikki-tikki-tavi2456 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply and insight. Does Ebay have a tool to run comps, or do I just look for identical or comparable postcard sales for reference? @@PittsburghPicker
