From talking to customers in the shop and teaching workshops workshop over the last 6 years or so, I know that buttonholes can be a really daunting thing for a lot of people. So in this top tips video I hope to make it all a bit easier to understand and get your head around!

Got my new machine for xmas & it has a one step buttonhole! Yay! . I gave it a try yesterday & it's like magic. I've been putting off any sort of shirt pattern because of the hassle on my old machine so I cant wait to get going. Thanks for the tips Lauren . Happy new year 😀

Great explanation. I sometimes use my seam ripper from both ends e.g. small cut from one end first and then start at the other end to finish the hole. It seems a bit safer as I am not pushing my ripper the whole length.

Thank you, my buttonhole stitch lengths/density on the right and left are different (the right is longer than the left), do you have any idea on the cause?
