Thanks again for a great video.I know you get the 2 versions in the 900.I've got the 600 Pocket Rocket and get about the same travelling distance as I would get from this and at $75 AUD I think I'LL save my biccys till the 777 comes out so I can do more than 6000 kms distance.Visually the 73-6,7,8 and 9 are stunning aircraft.Cheers

Quick thing with the battery switch and exit lights, when they're off with guards open, all you need to do is close the guard and the switch gets taken to the correct point. Same with the other 737 variants.

Jonathan, thanks for your excellent video, just bought the plane and also your startup list. Will have a go at a cold and dark startup soon. I have one problem is that I am struggling to get a decent view of the cockpit. I have an ultra wide monitor and get a wrapped view of the cockpit and all the knobs with them looking very long. Any idea how to fix as I looked in MSFS and cannot see how to adjust the viewing angle. Other plans like the standard Asobo aircraft do not do this. Guess it is something you adjust with the plane itself. Thanks, keep up the good work, have subscribed.

Did the data link to navigraph which requires the simulator not running, then opened it again and the cockpit view was normal now. Thanks.

Amazing aircraft I have the 700 versions. I'm struggling to understand PMDG and their pricing for variants of the 737 series Especially when their is no discount for current variant owners. $50-70 for slightly altered physics and body length is a lot to justify. Especially in these economic conditions.

PMDG have always operated in the same way. That said, the quality of finish on their aircraft is fantastic.

You should be able to map an axis to it. You get the choice now in the sim to make nose wheel steering and rudder the same axis or not (in the rail aircraft they are not).

Im sure that I cant be alone in wishing PMDG would extend discounts for current PMDG customers that already own other 737 variants. Seems they would likely benefit financially still when ones like me would pay $20 to add a variant while as is I will not add the plane. It gets too expensive to add a variant like the 900 ESPECIALLY when its so close to the -800. Not enough difference to justify the additional purchase.

The starting state is in the FMC settings.

I cannot get this to spawn with cold and dark. I am starting at a gate and nothing I do gets it to start cold and dark. The battery/ils and ground power are always running

It's a setting in the FMC in the PMDG aircraft. Press the MENU key, then PMDG OPTIONS, then change the start state.

A bit late to the party... just one little question... Do both the -700 and -900 variants use the default MSFS parameters when setting up the throttle quadrant or are there proprietary settings (which I hate) as found on the Fenix?

It has calibration in the FMC. I typically start with a flat-curve on the throttle sensitivity, and then configure in the FMC. It remembers what you have done.

It really depends on you programming the FMC properly, and configuring the cockpit properly.

In the past, I mainly flew combat planes in the DCS world. I now have an interest in trying a good civilian plane and am considering one of the PMDG 737 planes for MSFS. My inclination is to try the 900 as it is the newest and about in the middle price wise. What do you think would be a good choice for my first plane?

The 737-600 is the best value. They are all identical from a functional point of view. The more expensive variants have extra versions (such as the business and cargo variants included).

No mods. No "websitez" "uzed". It's stock Flight Simulator, and the 737-900 purchased from PMDG.

Any tip when i cant activate LNAV or VNAV. copy everything like you in the fmc. When i press FIX on the fms i get discontinuity FIX RAD/DIS. is it beacause of this discontinuity i cant activate LNMAV or VNAV??

Yes - you cannot activate LNAV or VNAV with discontinuities.

hey Jonathan! great video! I just wanted to say that my 737-900 is already started when I load it into the sim. I have also had a problem with starting the engines as it keeps saying engine fail even when I have the starter and ignition on... I believe that the plane already being started is affecting the engine start. Is there any way to make it so that the plane is not started when I load in?

Go to the fmc, go to pmdg setup i think and click cold and dark. And execute. Then restart the flight. This will start in a cold and dark state

You have to put pressure on the foot brakes - then you can engage the parking brake. This is a feature of the real aircraft.
