Complete novice here, but what do you mean at 3:35 when you say they get so many shots on each of those holes?

Hey good question. Each hole on a golf course is ranked 1-18 with 1 being the most difficult hole on the course, and 18 being the easiest. (this is called the stroke index) Your handicap is a reflection of your ability, so if you play off 9hcp we would expect you to find the holes with a stroke index 1-9 slightly harder so you get a shot on these holes, which means if you score a 5 you can take 1 shot off and it becomes a net 4 score. It’s a bit like a head start on the more difficult holes. Therefore if you play off 36 you’ll get 2 additional shots on every hole, therefore if you score a 7 just take 2 off and it becomes a 5 - hope this helps…👍🏌️‍♂️
