I've just discovered you and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your videos "All About". Ive been sssssoooooo confused about them all and Im now binge watching all of yours. I love the way you explain everything and demo. Im hoping you have done one on embossing as Im still bit confused about what can be used to emboss. At the beginning I thought that only the embossing ink pads/pens could be used, but it appears some other things may also be able to be used. Im still working on that one !!!!. Thank you again. Just wonderful.

LIndy thank you so much, I haven't done one specific on embossing but I have done many embossing techniques over the years with embossing powders. I'm so glad these helped you

Have you heard of clear fingerprint gel? It is actually clear and you add tempra paint to make your own colors? I used to use it back in the day. I can't find it anymore

I havent hear of that but you can do it with gel medium just as easily. I've done it before where I mixed Mica powder into gel to make my own paints. Look at my channel for my mica powder video. You can mix paints with gel as well.

Keren All I need to know. Does the Regular Matt or Gloss Gel Medium like painting with oils or not? John Hoare.

John I've never painted with oils so I'm not sure but the gel mediums are like glue a bit less glossy than a varnish and it dries as it's water based. I think what you're looking for is the Slow-dri liquid retarder which makes the acrylics stay wet longer like oil paints: something like this: amzn.to/3fMCHbb

Hi Keren, I’ve just bought the heavy gel medium gloss from Decoart but I don’t know how to use it :( I don’t know if it is thick or liquid or if I can use it with stencils to add texture. The person who sold it to me told me that this product is used to protect the scrapbook cardstock of losing its pattern when you use acrilyc paintings or the spray ones. Could you explain it to me a little bit please??

Hi the gloss gel will be very shiny but it can definitely protect the page. as the sprays or paints won't get to the paper. its like a protective layers. you do have to experiment though as I'm not familiar with that one and I usually like using matte gels as they are not shiny. I also don't know how heavy is the gel you bought as my heavy gel from prima is so thick I can't spread it. I use it to glue heavy embellishments. While the Soft gel from prima is perfect for what you want. I just don't know because each company writes soft, heavy according to their perspective so its hard to know unless you used it. I hope this helps.

i think you could call a medium a "substance" and you could just put water on top of the medium if you are going to not use it. this is also done with food and later you can just pour off the water it does compromise the paint a little.

Sooo I have a bottle of what is labeled as ACRYLIC MATTE MEDIUM. From what I've been able to gather you can use it as a glue or sealer of sorts, OR as a way of thinning AND lightening the color of an acrylic paint (or maybe even OTHER things like color it with Brusho's or Watercolor?) ... is ACRYLIC matte medium the same as the matte medium YOU showed? Cuz you showed something labeled as "Fluid" at the bottom and it was just called "Matte Medium", where as mine is labeled specifically ACRYLIC matte medium. I'm not finding much when I look it up, just GEL medium, and I'm like but mine doesn't say it's GEL it says it's ACRYLIC lol.. ugghhh lol help!

I think that you're right its the same as the matte medium. what brand is yours? I might be able to help you a little more that way. I do think they are the same, mine maybe says acrylic too as its used for acrylic paints. and it is used for exactly what you said, glue, collage, decoupage, sealer etc.

I think UTRECHT is the brand. I'm going by memory of the label, I had to depot it cuz the lid stuck bad gluing itself shut so lol

Karen. Can’t you add say small beads to your regular gel or sand ect instead of having to buy all the different kinds. Maybe the name brand ones are better?

yes Norine definitely!! anything goes. You can add coloured beads, and when it dries, you only see the beads as the gel is clear. the possibilities are endless!!
