I agree with and can't say it any better than the other ladies have. It's like reading a greeting card in the store and finding the one that perfectly says what you couldn't have said so eloquently. I've been watching gifts for quilters, knitters and crocheters and the number one thing I see in every channel is bags to hold their work. Me daughter in law knitted me some baskets and it baffled me why they don't knit their own bags and baskets? But I think I may try my hand at making her one for Christmas because you are such a good teacher. If I want a 4 to 6 inch bottom I need to start with a block of material that much taller and 3 inches wider.

I'm trying to incorporate more of these regular zips in my videos for people that don't use the continuous zips Marlene. My most recent video for a boxed bag shows you how to put them in using the regular type. You can then use that method to install them whenever you see me use the continuous. Just use something a couple of inches longer to easily do the topstitching😀 kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3SkeaWjpcmhpa8si=ph2McILgOc3ujGFd

Thanks so much Christine for giving me the numbers for the bags. It helps me to figure out how to adjust the corners and get the width and height I need. You talked about making the top of the bag squared so that the bag is completely squared. If you would make one of those, I’d REALLY APPRECIATE IT! I’m learning sooooo much from you 👏👏👏👏👏👏. You’re absolutely a Godsend to my guild Boutique’s efforts. I can take what I’ve learned, and help others with their makes as well. I really like adding the tabs to the zippers because they seem to look neater and more professional to me. The continuous zippers are handy, but I still struggle with getting the zipper pull inserted, even after watching your video demonstrating how to do it. 😮 But I suppose you could add the pulls first and then cut them to the length you want and also add the tabs! I think I will give that a try the next time I make bags!
@ChristinesHomeAffairs

That's a good idea Alicia. If you're using tabs, the pulls would need to go on first too😀

Love all your videos, this one by far helped me the most. Zippers are very intimidating for me but you went above and beyond explaining it. And I want to give a big thumbs up to your mom for suggesting you do a video like this. Please do more with regular zips, I'm sure a lot more more people other than me would love to see them.

Great video as usual. Like the continuous zippers but don’t do enough sewing to invest it them. Will stick with the regular zippers and start using the tape. Thanks a bunch.

Thanks so much for this side by side to show different outcomes and sames, especially the size comparisons at the end with the boxed corners. I’ve never tried continuous zips yet, because I have a large stash of regular, but I have a commercial purse that I’d love to change the zip from one way to double zip. I’ve used the purse long enough that if my tweet is a failure, it will be ok, if it works, I’ll get a couple more years with it.

I would love to make a set of three piece set of zip bags in three sizes. What have you got up your sleeve? I think they will be a wonderful gift idea. I'm struggling to get the sizes correct. thinking 3Tx5W 1 inch bottom. 5Tx7W 2 in bottom 7Tx710W 3 inch bottom. I also want to use continuous zips. Please consider taking on this challenge! Blessings and thank you!

I prefer the non cutting the corners at all as it would give more stability to the corners snd if you wanted a few hand stitches to block them to the bottom. Have a great evening.😊
