Like all instruments, whomever invented these steel drums were a genius. Such a unique and amazing sound.

It was a lady in trinidad I think. They used to bang steel oil drums and pans I guess in the streets in protests or carnivals and she invented the instrument proper by noticing that different sized dents put into the steel containers produced different notes.

@@greenwoodorganics4681 You are so WRONG on who invented the steel drum. Google the name Winston "Spree" Simon
@Megaredronin8 ай бұрын
the individual who first created it out of old oil drums is lost to history the pan was first called ping pongs but standardization refinement and improvements of the modern pan can be attributed to several persons the most famous of which is winston spree simon from laventille trinidad

I am now taking lessons. But only have a beginner drum. Can you please let me know where to go in area to find a drum?

@samueleversley39563 жыл бұрын
You have to practice like any other skills to get the hang of it, 'but be careful because you can get addicted to it and become [spiritually & mentality] affected over it.😲🤕☻🙊🙈🙈.
