Looking forward to giving this a go, I've just replaced the spongebar and fingers crossed it's working ok. Merry Christmas

Thank you Anna for all your videos! I especially liked this pattern and found the exact yarn you used even though it was discontinued, just a different color. It drapes and shines beautifully. Take care.

That's amazing that you were able to find the exact yarn. I found a bunch of it at Dollar Tree a couple of years ago, so I bought a bunch of it. This video was originally made for a class I taught in person. I supplied the yarn to the students so that everyone would be using a yarn that would run through the machine nicely. I still have a bunch of it.

I did the same thing this week. One of the skeins was a little messy. You could tell they tried to knit without winding it first. Their loss is my gain. Loved the result

@AnnaHaferman4 жыл бұрын
Great! Let me know if you need any advise on the repairs. I have fixed up a bunch of machines. It’s usually not super difficult, mostly just cleaning and oiling, but the sponge bar can be a bit of a slog on the LX 350s.

@@AnnaHaferman No problem Anna. I believe anyone that spends so much effort in showing machine knitters like me patterns in which I can use on my Lk 150 especially deserves to be paid for it. It's only fair. I wish more people would do the same.

Thanks for this tutorial. Could you guide me on how to expand the width such as in making a blanket using this pattern. Is there a multiple number of stitches I need to maintain plus one stitch on the right side? TIA.
@AnnaHaferman Жыл бұрын
You need a multiple of 6 plus 1 plus 2 on each side. (In other words, a multiple of six minus 1) Make sure that when you select your first group of needles you start with the third one in work from the left. After you make the selection, you will have 2 needles in work, 1 in hold, 5 in work, 1 in hold, 5 in work, 1 in hold, etc and then 2 in work. Try selecting the needles without any yarn in the carriage to make sure that you have it correct before casting on. Mark your pattern with washable markers to help select the subsequent rows.

@@AnnaHaferman Thank you so very much! I appreciate it. I have a bulky machine and, for whatever reason, the tuck stitch drops in the middle when I start to knit again. I have done it so many times, check double check and failed, but I will try again. It shall not break me :).

@@AnnaHaferman I am using a Brother KH 230 and worsted weight yarn #4. Tension 7. The first time I followed your video, I was very successful making it on a Brother KX-350, I am trying to make a blanket on the Brother KH230, but not succeeding without dropping some of the tuck stitches. I have a lot of worsted weight yarn #4 that I would love if I could use making a blanket project.
@AnnaHaferman Жыл бұрын
Are you putting enough weight on the knitting? Tuck stitch needs a lot of weight.

OMG!!! That yarn you are using, is AUD$16 (USD$12) here in Australia. I love the look of it but will not pay such ridiculous prices. Certainly a bit jealous of the prices in the US. Thank you for the scarf pattern video I’m off to try it now 😃
@AnnaHaferman4 жыл бұрын
That’s a close out price- I think it would have been much more in a regular store.
@jusme664 жыл бұрын
Anna Haferman I’m still gobsmacked at the $1 price point lol. The black and gold and the oil slick colour ways are still my favourite (looking) of all time. Have you seen the whole range??

If I wanted to use this pattern for a baby blanket, what would be the repeat count?
@AnnaHaferman2 жыл бұрын
You would have to make a swatch using the stitch pattern and measure it to get the number of stitches and rows per inch. Then multiply stitches per inch by however wide you want your blanket and cast on that many needles. Then multiply rows per inch by length of blanket and do that many rows. So, if your stitches per inch is 5 and you want a 30 inch wide blanket, you would cast on 150 needles. If your rows per inch is 7 and you want your blanket 40 inches long, you would do 280 rows.

Hi there! I have recently acquired a brother kx 350! Can you please tell me if it’s a 9 mm? Or a bulky? Or what it is? I have the manual but I don’t see it written anywhere. 😊
@AnnaHaferman3 жыл бұрын
Hi, it’s 7 mm which is considered mid-gauge. Most mid-gauge machines are 6.5 mm, so this is on the upper end of mid-gauge. It’s a great machine. Make sure to check your sponge bar first thing because you more than likely will have to change it. I have a video on how to do it. It’s a little tricky but easy enough to do. Congrats!

Holly Nadin You could select the needles by hand; it just takes a little longer but since you’re marking the needles with the washable marker it goes pretty fast since you don’t have to count.
