Lovely, atmospheric painting and good verbal explanations of what you're doing and why. I want to try this, but don't have a hake brush. I do have a couple 1 and 1.5" cheap painters' brushes as well as a 3/4" flat watercolor brush. Do you think I can get away with using these?

Thanks! I think it is worth a try to see if you can get results with these brushes, maybe try them out on some scrap watercolour paper first to see what sort of brushstrokes and effects you can get from them all!

Just watched again Lois. It’s so beautiful. Is there different stuff you teach on your patreon sight to what is on Utube please? You seem an expert with the Hake brush. Is that something you learnt and prefer to other brush styles? I see you use an old enamel tin and put out grease paint onto it? I suppose that’s also because those brushes are so wide they wouldn’t fit in a lot of palettes? I love your work and your voice. Thank you so much.

I don't usually sign it, I tend to forget! However, when i put paintings in my Etsy shop I sign then near the bottom corners, which ever spot that will be seen without distracting from the painting,

Hi, it is a Pro Arte Ron Ranson hake, not all hakes are quite as well made or versatile, I recommend this one

It’s fascinating to see how the scene are painted and with some moves with the brush that looks like something I could do...then when the magic has done the thing it feels like You had done something in between, that wasn’t filmed even if I know You hadn’t I sad that to mu husband and I also said, well I have so much to learn and practice will maybe paying off, in the future. Just stopped saying that and You inform us that it takes some practicing but some day You reach. Did You hear me asking him(my husband) how to do it?
