Again great stuff.. but man, what a confusing 'soup' of letters and acronyms! Let me ask you this... Which do you think comes first, the new technology that allows us to upgrade from like 3G to 4G, and 4G to 5G? OR is it the idea's and 'demands" that come first and we have to development technology to make it a possibility?

Its complex. Depends also on what vendors push and if the operators want to show they are leaders they will try new/innovative stuff regardless of demands.

What are prerequisites for this series

No prerequisites as such but if you are new, you may want to start here: www.3g4g.co.uk/Training/ - alternatively, check out the 5G training playlist.

@@roshanbhattad4493 No sorry, no coding. You cannot code 5G, each small module will also take a long time. Definitely not available for free ;-)

Thank you for this very informative video. The majority of the literature says that 5G will be characterized by small cells, mmWave, and MIMO. Here, 5G is characterized by three other technologies URLLC, mMTC, and eMBB, what is the relationship between the two suggestions?
@3G4G5G7 жыл бұрын
IMT-2020 has defined three main use cases for 5G networks as discussed in the video. They are eMBB, mMTC and URLLC. To meet these use cases 5G system will use small cells (densification), mmWave (larger bandwiths leading to higher throughput) and massive MIMO (beamforming leading to increased capacity). In addition there will be more changes at the physical layer like flexible numerology, smaller TTI, different coding schemes, etc.

So there isn't a pairing between the three use cases and the three technologies used to achieve them?
@3G4G5G7 жыл бұрын
Not really. The main focus of small cells, massive MIMO and mmWave is eMBB. They wont help much URLLC and mMTC.

Thank you very much:), We're waiting for more videos!

Also is the 3GPP2 group pretty much dead right now? Are they still independent of 3GPP? IT seems like 3GPP has a completely dominance of 5G...
