There is a deep and wonderful music sensibility in everything Trygve Seim composes and plays. The spirituality of his music is tangible and affecting. This is soul music beyond category. I know this composition from his recording 'Sangam', and I've always admired the very long arc of the piece, the way it starts and ends in a whisper, and builds and builds to a crescendo in the middle. This is music both ancient and modern. You could ask, "is it jazz?". But it doesn't matter at all, does it? 12 stars.
